vbskins.com
Anyone know what is up with that site?
I've purchased a skin from them and had a few issues with the sytly purchased but they have not replied to my email yet (over a week). I just went to their new "support" site and now it's pretty much gone  Cheers, ~Regs. |
Not sure, not heard of any problems with vBSkins for quite a while. There was an issue with support but it was due (I think) to a death in the family and Corey was gone for that.
Other from that once incident, I am not sure. I know corey is very busy with Ravio, though Matt or another support member should be able to help. |
Or if worst comes to worst, maybe somebody here can help?
|
haven't seen corey online in ages. He's not on ICQ, or Aim. No new skins added there lately either.

May be hiding from the IM Programs possibly.

I appreciate the responses, great stuff here...
It appears that they are more than just hiding from IM programs though :D Not a very good first impression and alarm bells are ringing big-time now that they have removed their forums and vbskinssupport.com  Here's what I asked: Quote:

Thanks Brad,
Worked a treat, just had to fix the "javascript" call for the popup window as you had a space between java & script :D Cheers, ~Regs. |
Actually, looking back... that's an error on the part of the original skin produced by vbskins
Too bad future buyers are going to have the same errors w/o support for it :D Cheers again, ~Regs. |
That's why you take the time and dedication to make your own ;)

It's a trade off, isn't it?
I'm trying to run a business here and I have done my own designs. I don't have enough time to sit down and do one or many up myself unfortunately these days. vbskins.com will not be getting any plugs from me, that's for sure. Business is business and I expect quality work and support for my hard-earned cash. If he/they cannot provide it as they are obligated to do by way of their lisence agreement, they should not be in business, period. Cheers, ~Regs. |

Yeah... ok |
So hypothetically, that would make me a bad person?
What's your point in this context? Cheers, ~Regs. |

Technically, they are not obligated to change anything within the skin, whether there are 0 errors or 100, according to the license agreement (as they are sold "as is"). The "as is" clause could harm business easily, should it not be fixed, but there is no obligation to be held.
I do hope that you receive a response from either corey or matt though, it's a shame that you have not already. Both corey and matt used to be very active and support was flying (from what I heard), not sure what cause the slowness or lack of support. |
No worries guys. I hear what you are saying. I suppose I try to hold people to higher standards is all. I don't mind errors and such in a product if the support and communication is there :D
Anyways, I appreciate the feedback, the "fix" and would like to wish everyone's father, including a-drive's, a good weekend :D Cheers, ~Regs. |
regs, Im the co-owner of vbskins... We are sorry if anything has happened and we could not fix it for you right away but I have not recieved any emails from you... I would also like to explain that the support site is down because corey changed the dns by accident when changing the dns for vbskins.com the other day so he has set it back and should be back up and running soon.
|
hmmmm... if it were a simple DNS error/mix-up, why would the support site be empty now? Shouldn't it be exactly as it was before the mix-up?
In any event, here's a copy of the email I sent [editted out some stuff I don't want public]. You'll note that I left it for almost a week w/o a reply before I went searching for help elsewhere after getting no reply back and seeing that stuff was not working on your site. I may be an impatient SOB, but not that impatient... :D Good luck with getting everything sorted. I look forward to it. Quote:
