Juss another idea

Would it be possible to count all pages with a thread on it? like if this were the the total amount of threads on your forum:

Any Programmers? ( 1 2 )
Any Designers? ( 1 2 3 4 )
Any Money For me?

The pagecount would be 2+4+1=7 pages

You could apply it like this:
Members: 7,050 » Threads: 3,003 (on 8934 pages) » Posts: 26,344

Tony G 02-23-2003 09:26 AM

I'm sure it would require hacking.

Owen 02-23-2003 09:39 AM

well my last two ideas didnt require hacking so I why do you think it would require hacking?

Rufus69 02-23-2003 01:43 PM

because the last one you had already was built into vB ;)

Owen 02-23-2003 02:30 PM

well what about that attachment thing I requested...

filburt1 02-23-2003 02:33 PM

It's probably possible via phpinclude but will add another query.

filburt1 02-23-2003 02:38 PM

Actually two queries albeit both not very server-intensive. Will release.

Owen 02-23-2003 02:39 PM

Does adding a query really matter? Coz it would be cool.

filburt1 02-23-2003 02:39 PM

Yes it does, adding a query increases server load and page load time.

filburt1 02-23-2003 02:50 PM

I found a way to use one query instead of two, and it doesn't appear server-intensive, either. Almost done.

Done: http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/mo...&threadid=3137

Also, Owen, please go to this page and enter your vBT email address, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)
Thank you.

Nairb 02-23-2003 03:40 PM

Good job filburt!

My friend owns the vbulletin, but he hired me to work on it, so maybe I can get him to fill it in for me.

filburt1 02-23-2003 06:06 PM

You will have to do that to continue to get support here.

Owen 02-24-2003 08:15 AM

So I need to fill in the email my partner uses at vbulletin.com?

Tony G 02-24-2003 09:00 AM

No, he will put in your email there to allow you access through the vB sites.

Owen 02-24-2003 09:07 AM

oh ok, I ask him when I get back from vacation

filbert are you now or have you ever been an employee of vbulletin or jelsoft?.. if not i would like to know why you think you have to authority to require people to goto a totaly different site for which you have no other association than you are a member and you have a licence then have them input information which you should not have access to for support on this board..

this is a general inquiry and i look forword to your response..

filburt1 02-24-2003 04:06 PM

I'm a moderator here and one of my responsibilities is to ensure the legitimacy of vBulletin users. If you can't prove license status then you obviously have a pirated version and will be reported to Jelsoft, your host, your domain name registrar, your ISP, and other vBulletin sites. And yes, I have gotten people to lose their hosting, copy of vB, and ISP connection due to pirated software.

filburt1 02-24-2003 04:14 PM

Side note: you yourself need to go the page I linked to and authenticate yourself.

Tony G 02-25-2003 03:46 AM

To back up what filbie said, this is a site thats affilated with jelsoft's vB.com site as so it's our duty to do this. :)

Rufus69 02-25-2003 04:37 PM

hmmmm I think I'll make a cool little thing like filburt's, "this doesn't send anything to jelsoft" form ;)

imported_pie 02-25-2003 09:02 PM

not looking for a fight - just a request - can u filbert edit your posts, coz. this whole thread is full up with "filbert1" after each other and its pretty annoying to read. if there is an edit, just put edit, otherwise its just spamming

:$ No offence its just this is aRULE in most forums :)
