mySQL 4?
 

Anyone used it with vB yet?. i know of two sites that have upgraded their servers to it and seen a big speed increase. Overgrow.com has been flyin scence it upgraded to mySQL 4, its still a bit slow..but they do have 700 + people logged in at any givin time.

I have the gamma, yeah I like it it runs faster than 3, I know that

I will be asking my webhosting company where the sapphire server will be upgraded to mysql 4.

You wont see much of a "boost" in speed until you play with the table and row settings a bit. Once viperhost upgrades to mySQL 4 kousetsu will fly. I just hope the final gets out soon.

So what do you need to do when you say you have to play around with the row and table settings? Be more specific please :D I'd like to give my forums a nice little boost too :D

ViperHost will upgrade as soon as CPanel deems it to be a safe install. We personally would not install any software less than beta for security and performance reasons. :)

it's right before they think its ready to be released just making all the final thing's, mostly cosmedic...
