It's Mr. HelperBot!
http://www.webdesignforums.net/showt...&threadid=5170
Sorry, can't be released as a template mod, I finally had to hack. Also not going to release the hack because it's supposed to be a WDF "exclusive" feature :p Anyway, you can try him out. Make a new thread in one of the help forums (no spam, please; Chit Chat and non-help forums are ignored by the bot). Be sure to check the checkbox in the yellow box when making a thread and remember that you can't carry on a conversation with him, he just replies to your first post. |
one word.. WOW
that is very nice filburt. Excellent work, I'd like to know the secret behind it but oh well.. ehehe.. again nice work, how long did that take you? |
Two days. I had the concept yesterday and implemented it correctly today. It's really only one somewhat simple query to get the related threads so it ended up being more tedious than hard to write.

awesome feature filburt :)
|
Ooo, nice work turtle. :D

Filburt = Turtle yes. ;)

MySQL needs to be able to do what I'm doing to pagetext instead of just title. Right now he's pretty stupid if you use a useless subject.
|
Ooo Thanks Awsome...
|
Looks superb.
Good work. :) Craig |
Nice job, Im sure the bot pics up on the noun and then simple prints out the search results egh? :)
|
No, the bot's really stupid, it's MySQL that's doing all the work :)
|
I assume you have links(or sentance) connected to a bunch of keywords.
The mysql searches each of the words from the users thread through the database then posts the links it finds matches for. |
Nope, not even close.

Can this be working only for users with 1st post? To show them that there is a search feature .-), small example? |
He died. I took him out back and shot him.
Actually he just never got ported to vB3; plus it includes a related threads feature. But the general concept behind him still works. |
