[release] Progress bar in newreply
Author: filburt1
Description: adds a live progress bar and character counter to newreply to replace the [check message length] link. Screenshot: next post Because of speed limitations the progress bar does not update with every keystroke, but rather every two seconds. Also, its color depends on how much you've typed (>80% is red, >60% is yellow, anything else is green). Requires IE5.5, at least for the live counter. Not sure about the progress bar itself. |

I was trying to make something like this too, not a bar but the stupid java wouldn't work! >_<

Maybe, depends on how the form is coded.
Will this work with the quick reply as well?

class, very nice
Would this work with editpost aswell as newthread and newreply?
Theoretically.
very nice :) i installed this, adding it to newthread, and quick reply :)
works for all of the above, so anybody asking if it works, all you have to do is repeate the steps in the txt file for all the templates you want to do this mod too |
As psyblast said it can be added to newthread and q-reply in the same way as newreply. I did add a
and retain the:

]Very cool :D installing

i dont want that bar, so if i want to remove it should i simply remove that line?
The bar is the whole point of the mod
maybe to you, but not me...

It works perfectly fine for me, make sure you don't have any hacks installed.
vary nice!! I try to install it;)
I made a little variable to not show this line in Netscape or another Browser.... only Ie.
correct?? ;) |
Nice hack, Filburt. I noticed that it causes the browser screen to "blink" ever so slightly as I am typing though. Anyone else noticed that?
(apologies if this was already mentioned; haven't read the whole thread yet) |
It does it every five seconds or so which is when it updates the counter and progress bar. If it did it with every keystroke the typing would lag.
very nice, it works very well for me ;)
I installed it but it doesn't show any character count. It stays at 0, so where do I need to go to put in the character count. I just used it in my quick reply box area.
It was designed only to work with the full reply form and nothing else.
thx for this hack
gonna try to install this.
