Tony G 10-10-2002 05:10 AM

I don't have a pic, but here is a description:

A nice little purdy desk with some sort of cloth to "protect" it from the vast scratches of the computer. There's a red mouse bad since the table doesn't seem to be flat everywhere right next to where my mouse it. About 3 metres away is a TV I usually watch while on the comp. And thats about it.

I've got an ATI TV Wonder which lets you watch TV on your PC (with tons of other extras, of course), so that really distracts you. ;)

Brad 10-10-2002 05:55 PM

Heh i have a tv input/output myself on my card, ive never used it tho. :)

SaintDog 10-10-2002 07:35 PM

When I get my camera hooked up, I will take a picture, although I need to clean things up first :)

Heh i love my d-cam, ever scence i installed it ive done nothing but take pics. to much fun :p

SaintDog 10-10-2002 08:17 PM

Well, as promised, I took a couple of pictures of my work area and of my computer that I use. The light within the case is a cold cathode and two LED lit case fans; it is not the flash on the camera.

I like that case, did it come pre moded or did you do it yourself?. Im doing some mods to mine as soon as i have the money. Right now im just using a black case i picked up for $120. heres what the inside of my puter looks like.

SaintDog 10-10-2002 09:18 PM

The side window came cut out, at least that is how I purchased it as I did not want to screw the cutout up and be left to buy another side panel.

As for the cathode, I installed it, although there was not really much to it, it is a open & install type of thing so nothing much was really required there either.

As soon as I can find an IDE cable that will allow 4 connections I will be adding the on/off button for the cathode to one of the CD slots although I am not even sure they make ones with that may connections (1 to the motherboard, the others would be used for the DVD Drive, CD-RW Drive, and the basic CD-ROM Drive).

Tony G 10-11-2002 05:38 AM

I really like that case too. Nice purrrrdy blue coming from it. :p

I want a d-cam, somebody give me money. Or I better start saving up. :)

SaintDog 10-11-2002 09:14 AM

More blue will be coming from it later on, it is pretty dark up top ;) (no need to be dark in a case that is supposed to be lit up). I thought the cathodes were a little brighter, well I thought wrong :).

SaintDog 10-11-2002 11:42 AM

If you are looking to add things to your computer than I would suggest checking out directron.com, that is the place that I bought all of my computer parts from.

Brad 10-11-2002 11:45 AM

Wow that site is full of stuff. ill have to bookmark it, as soon as im ready to do my next build im sure to buy a few parts from there.

SaintDog 10-11-2002 12:00 PM

I am about to order another blue cold cathode and a deskstar (IBM) 120GB hard drive. I finally maxed out my memory yesterday at 1GB, although the difference between 896MB and 1024MB is not too much :( (not much changed).

Tony G 10-11-2002 12:19 PM

I'm interested in making this comp's case look better. I don't like the one I have now. Except for a blue see-through open/close shutter I have for my USB Ports. Thats really nice, otherwise I'm sick of the rest. :p

Not trying to spam but if you go over to www.netwerkin.com there are alot of comp guru's on their forums, i know the guy that runs it (hes converting to vBulletin soon :) ) and me and Tony post there alot.

zachb 10-11-2002 06:29 PM

Yea, X is a great guy. Really helpful place, too. I can't wait til they convert to vB and get it in with PostNuke.

Phaeton 10-12-2002 02:39 AM

saintdog, depends on which ver of winbl0wz you are running, sorry to burst your bubble but windows doesnt read more than 758MB of ram, at least in my extensive tests :) (linux or freebsd on the other hand...........;))

SaintDog 10-12-2002 02:50 AM

Windows XP w/SP1 - it reads 1GB, although the difference is not noticable.

Just put up my new cathode and cleaned up my computer a little bit, when it gets dark over here, I will take a couple more pictures, I think it looks a lot better now, cords are not hanging all over the place now :).

I need to buy a few more case fans too although I am concentraing on working to get this other computer built up :), may go with an Athlon MP 2000+ if I can find a good deal, I found one for $159 + Shipping, but I may can get one cheaper locally.

I need to buy me a motherboard, hard drive, and a processor and I will have things pretty well under control :).

Brad 10-17-2002 07:10 PM

Im doing a new build aswell, going with Athlon MP 2000+ to. My case is ganna cost $340 before case mods tho :/

SaintDog 10-17-2002 08:04 PM

What case are you getting that costs that much? Sheesh, that is a lot just for a case (if it is just for the case itself). I would not mind seeing it, I have one in mind although I would like to see which you picked out.

As for the MP, I would wait a little for them to lower the prices, AMD is working on a new core I do believe and that should lower prices on the others. MP's are also meant for dual processing, so if you are going that route, you should by 2 of them :) (can get pricey though).

imported_aLuCaRD 10-17-2002 11:16 PM

I couldnt find pictures of my room, I had some somewhere, I'll take some tomorrow when its light, after seeing that case mod (I want to do one when I get time, to my PC or X-Box) heres a shot of inside my case when I did a spring clean. :D

imported_aLuCaRD 10-17-2002 11:17 PM

Have you not got a center code here or is it different..?

SaintDog 10-18-2002 12:29 AM

Nope, HTML coding is not allowed, nor is that coding ;).

Cypher720 10-18-2002 01:00 AM

lol - i happen to be a bigger computer dork than all of you put together (guaranteed!!)

I just have a Dircetron brand 201b case that i bought for like 200 something (no more than 220 USD) I have 6 fans (2 front intake, 1 blowhole, i side intake on vid card, and 2 rear exhaust.) My site is abotut computing, but we have very few members at the moment (www.cyphersshack.com)

I buy most of my stuff at www.newegg.com (THE PLACE TO BE!)

I might post pics of my work area (a mess in my rooom), and my case later!

LMK if you need computer help!

Tony G 10-18-2002 08:25 AM

I wouldn't count on that, I know a bigger one then you. His machiene's awesomeness shall overpower you. :p
