Right. Before you look say anything or look at it... it is based off yaXay with the mods etc... and sorta looks like it, but tonight I am changing the colors and images.

What I want you to do, is tell me what you think, what colors they should be and what I can do to make it better.
I think:

- Black
- Blue
- Grey
- White

Firstly. you don't need to make new threads on these things. Just post them in your old thread.

Also, just do colors that you think are right for your forum.

:) Well, I would do but the last one got closed, :(. ANywho, I have chosen dark blue and yellow. Go check it looks good.

Also, I just realised, the only thing to with my site and yaXay is the background of the buttons table, :).

Too many graphics forums starting up, way too many. Although the design is not bad, many others have the same general look, which, imo, makes it unoriginal.

To back up the above post, this URL was the first in mind when it comes to too many boards having the same general design and general category bars.....

It's just not original anymore, originality is key.

Agreed SaintDog, everyone is doing the same thing. And what ticks me off is they think it's good after copying other peoples layouts and stuff. I mean maybe a bit is okay, but be as original as possible.

Hmm, I agree too. The only reason why I did this is to test it out. I have never done this type of style b4. Thanx for the comments. My next version will be nice, I hope. Not to graphical though.

The only boards deserving of being trully graphical and worthy of being graphical is:

fexBoards

They all deserve it. Also, cyphers shack is what I call a total rip of yaXay.

Off topic here, but would you say my site looks original?

Anyway, why is it xiWix, Cyphers Shack and yaXay all look like :rolleyes:

Hey guys. I noticed that i have gotten inspired by all the graphics sites. I get complaints about rips, and i change them around. Well...im working on a NEW, ORIGINAL layout that will look nice (i hope!).

I'm sorry for being inspired, or too inspired. I'm going to be changing it within the next week or so, so PLEASE dont say its onoriginal...i know!

You have ALL inspired me, and now i will create an original layout, that you will all be amazed by...(well, maybe not!)

Bottom line...i know that my site is like yaxay and whatnot. give me a few weeks/days, whatever...and it will be original.

Indeed, some people just can't come up with originality so they copy.

Actually, they do thier own style and version of the image.

Yes, those images don't look too original. Maybe get off that orange/grey scheme. It's used alot.

well...i was using grey/orange before i got into graaphics, which was like 3 years ago! I'll never leave it!!!!!!

what would you suggest then? I'm sorta weak when it comes to creativity, bnut im trying....I'm working on creating something thats NOT grey/orange...what would you suggest?

tony, whats up with all this picking on cypher? i mean your site is hardly original looking, or its content. And all these people saying there are way too many graphics boards around now? there always have been, since message boards were first made. if he wants a graphics site, thats his choice, his decision, and i say good luck to him.

Definitely way too many design communities popping up. And with veterans out there like yaxay and a few others there's no real reason for new ones to keep coming because people are going to keep to what they are use to.

On the design, it's all right. Nothing special really. Kind of bland. And your sig also looks like everyone else's at yaxay, in which I think razor started that trend and now everyone's using it... bleh :\

And my site isnt really graphics. When i was on a YaBB board, people requested a graphics area. The site is a computer help site, with forums and stuff. Please stop picking on me, and im glad other people notice it.

read some of my poists - i am changing ALL of it - sig, board, logo, images, everything. I'm just not updating any of it til its ALL done.

@Tony: your images are vers similar to lots of sites too! Look at your postbit......your images for the top and bottom are also like my forumhome images....I'm not saying a rip r ANYTHING, but im saying that you have no right to criticize my work of originality

I am not picking on anyone, just stating the facts. And FYI I didn't design my whole forum, so you can't go blaming me. I could say the only thing that could look copied was the postbit images, but SD has viewed my site and never told me off, so then how are they ripped? There are significant differences you don't even bother to look for. :rolleyes:

And yes, some things are individual. You don't see a Orange scheme on my forum, although I see that at like every second forum I view here. It's okay to get SOME ideas from another forum. But not most. I'm just suggesting, not critisizing you. But no, you jumped to colclusions and put words into my mouth which I don't appreciate.

There is no sense in arguing this over and over, no-one is getting anywhere fast and it has greatly fallen off the topic of the original subject.

There are way too many graphics forum, to say there is not is a lie, but if anyone would like to state that there is not enough, go right ahead.

As for nit-picking and such, if you do not want comments, do not post, it is as simple as that. If you post here you are likely to get told that your board is unoriginal or that someone does not like it, deal with it, it is the internet and people are going to say what they feel at the time of looking at your website and/or preview.

On to Tony's board, if you find it un-original, talk to the main designer of the board, I mean it is pretty easy to find out who it is by looking at the design close enough, if it is not apparent, ask Tony....

Some people need to learn that the 'net is just that, the 'net; you can talk what others say about your board (good & bad) or just not post.

We just all need to take critisism, and not go arguing with the person giving it out. Your not going to just get praise. I've gotten critisism before and I took it. You don't go shouting like they hate you or something. Nothing is personal here. I'm just trying to give out some advice, thats all.

Im Pretty Original with my styles and dont really see a need for graphics.... Pretty much like everyone said theres to many Graphical Sites out there and its Unoriginal and eventually gets boring to go to all these sites and see the same Old Thing.... your site i have seen alot that look like it not too many color wise but Graphic wise Yes But it Looks Nice Anyway

Having a mix of graphics and design is the best. Don't overdo it with one and leave out the other.

I would suggest a dark blue/navy blue with a sorta neon faded green with white and grey. That would look nice. Um also, I have deletec my forums and I have reuploaded them. Also, I have added all the nitty gritty changes on it. But it is still the default vB colors. I am going for a greeny orange sorta scheme. It will look nice, hopefully.

Another thing, isnt this about xiwix?

@cypher - why not just have a bg image instead of left and right images? Thats what I am doing. If not, your style looks nice.
