Free vb template...
 

Hi guys,
I checked with Saintdog to make sure this was cool to post ;)

Ok, here is the deal. I'm going to start selling some skins through the teamphotoshop site. Before I launch the first skin I'd like a few of you to check it out and beta test it. Check it out for out of place images, broken images, etc. And check how the install goes and so on. Just give it a good test drive. I included a readme, step by step install so even if you are a pro please just follow along if you would and make sure I didn't screw something up or forget something.

Ok, I'm looking for some people with some older boards set up to test this as well as the current versions. The style was made in 2.7 and I've tested it on my board.

I'd like somebody with a 2.2.7 and maybe all the way down to a 2.0 or so if possible.

So if you are interested I'll let you keep the skin for free for helping me test this out. It will also include the .psd files for you to play around with or modify. I'm planning on selling them for around $30-$60 depending on how much graphic/template work goes into them.

I guess the best way would be to just post a reply here if you want to beta test and give me the version # of your vb you plan on testing. Then I'll pm you a link to download the files from. Saintdog gets first dibs :)

I'd gladley beta test for you. Im using vB version 2.2.7(Possible 2.2.6 version could also be tested on)

It's not 2.7, it's 2.2.7. And there isn't any 2.3. I'm sure there won't be anymore 2x releases until the release of vb3.

Also if you refer to styles some people are releasing them for free in our Style Sets forum. :)

I have followed your instructions. The only complaint I can make about them is there isnt enough paragraphs. Otherwise, they helped me:)

The style looks great! I dont think there are any problems, check my site www.ff-dc.com

But, the only problem I did encounter. The only way I could make it work, was to overwrite my Default style. When I tried to create a new one, it didnt work. Maybe I did something wrong. But, I overwrote my default, and it looks great!

If you upload this style and then make it selectable you can go into your edit profile and choose Style_1 from the drop down, then click save. Now what I did have happen to me was I had to go back and click save again for this style. I'm guessing it is something to do with the vb cookie settings. Once I clicked it twice it worked. Other times it worked the first time I chose it.

Also if you are using a version other than 2.2.7 you need to select the "Use style file even if it is for a different version of vBulletin" option when uploading. I've uploaded fine to two different test boards with no problems leaving the default as is.

It will be up here soon as the second vBT style ;). I have not seen it personally myself, but from your other designs, this one should be nice as well so you should not hear any complaints from me :).

I wish I kept it as my default style, then you could've seen my forum home and see for youself. Its really good:)

Never mind. Looks too crowded for actual "logged in" users when I tried it...

yeah looks great,just one or two problems with forum widths etc but looking at those now.Also playing around with a few more template mods will post again once I have done hope this is ok ?

All the widths should be a set size. What problems are you having with them. Do you have a screen shot?

Do you want to Style to be tested on another version of vB? I think I can get someone to let me use thier vB 2.2.6

Well a test forum would work out, because it's only "testing" and things can go wrong.

I think I'm ready to release it. I've tested it on 2.2.7 down to 2.2.5 and have had zero problems. From the sounds of things none of you have found any bugs either. The style is only template mods so I really can't think of any reasons it shouldn't work on any semi current version....

I do appreciate you letting vBT as well as a few of the members test your style out, it is very nice in deed and will be added as soon as I get a chance to edit it a little (the title and such). ViperHost has kept me bust latley (php development) so I have not had much time to do anything.

Goo luck with your website and all future development, you are welcome to post the need for help anytime (or just post in general ;)).
