Thanks for the heads up. I hardly ever check vbulletin.com, or my CP.

sphinx 08-28-2002 09:44 AM

yep running it although this is still a rc version, but apparently not for long ;)

Tony G 08-28-2002 11:00 AM

Is SD gonna upgrade here to 2.2.7?

assassingod 08-30-2002 09:13 PM

I upgraded today:) With thousands of problems.

I dont think SaintDog should upgrade:) To be honest:) Because of some of the *hacks* that are installed

Tony G 08-30-2002 11:39 PM

What kind of problems were you getting?

SaintDog 08-30-2002 11:56 PM

I don't have too much time to run through all the files right now since both of the hacks that FireFly did are fairly large I do believe. vBT will probably upgrade once vBulletin 3.0 comes out unless there is a high demand by the vBulletin developers to persue such an upgrade.

Tony G 08-30-2002 11:58 PM

Well I don't think there are many changes with 2.2.7 hacking wise. But otherwise I'd do what your doing and wait. :)

Brad 08-31-2002 01:09 AM

Unless your having problems with your members not begin able to stay loged in its not really that important to upgrade seeing how the safe mode fix was included in a reply to the release post.

Brad 08-31-2002 01:11 AM

2.2.7 is now out of RC.

Well, to be honest, it was my fault.

I decided to delete everything in the root dir, then upload the 2.2.7 files, but foolishy forgetting I had vbstats installed, so that cause a problem in index.php

and plus ive never upgraded before, so I forgot to run upgrade20.php:rolleyes:

But I wouldnt upgrade, 'specially when you have lots of hacks installed. I only upgraded because none of mine worked.

 :p

Tony G 08-31-2002 01:21 AM

Hmm, well at least you know for next time.

assassingod 08-31-2002 01:39 AM

Yeah, True. But I dont think Ill upgrade anymore. Not even for version 3

Tony G 08-31-2002 02:29 AM

Well I will be going to Version 3. It's going to be great. :)

assassingod 08-31-2002 02:40 AM

Meh, I dont like the looks of it:) Some of it is ok, but the other stuff is just...uh....bad?:)

Tony G 08-31-2002 02:41 AM

Still in Alpha though, so when it gets closer to beta you'll love it.

assassingod 08-31-2002 02:48 AM

Yeah, you're probably right:)

Tony G 08-31-2002 02:53 AM

Maybe releasing the Alpha made everyone think vb3 is bad.

Brad 08-31-2002 04:17 AM

its not the alpha itself, its the fact that the new style is not ready. if you look passed the style you will see that its better then vBulletin 2.x in every way.

Tony G 08-31-2002 06:05 AM

Yes but some people don't realise the style hasn't been finished yet.

assassingod 08-31-2002 09:34 AM

Why do they release vB 3 beta without the the new style?

I dont understand that ^.-

Tony G 08-31-2002 10:14 AM

The beta will have the style, the Alpha doesn't.

its alpha :p

and the vbulletin team wanted to show us the work that has been done thus far, now that people have seen it they can get input has they develop the style and new fetures.

assassingod 08-31-2002 05:37 PM

Oh, I see:) Thanks Anime-loo.

EDIT: And Tony :p

Tony G 09-01-2002 12:13 AM

I'd like to see the style soon, just to see how it would look in default.

SaintDog 09-01-2002 10:57 AM

vBT probably will not upgrade right away since the template backend is supposed to be so different, the current style will not work. Off the top of my head and from what has been said, I would give vBT 1 -> 1.5 months after the release of vB 3.0 before you will see it here (too many template edits).

Tony G 09-01-2002 11:02 AM

Are you going to do anything different (Style wise) for vB 3.0 SD?
