i would like to request on how to put images at the bottom of the categories :)

mashby 07-29-2002 12:33 AM

Xio,

Just so you know, this has been a popular request and no one has stepped up to provide a solution. I'm not saying that no one won't, I just didn't want you waiting for a quick answer. :p

yamill3 07-29-2002 02:14 AM

I will write it tonite :)

imported_Derek 07-29-2002 05:04 AM

Plus, that isn't yaXay... :p

c-pr0mpt 07-29-2002 08:30 AM

Add it in Forumbit level1 no post at the top. Then add a <br> before the rest begins.

mashby 07-29-2002 10:52 AM

Thank you Corey for putting us on the right track and at least giving us some idea of where to look! :D

Dizzy 07-30-2002 12:53 PM

i wonder if corey' is ever going to open another forum similar to yaxay??

anyways...do what corey said.. hes right ;)

Jon 07-30-2002 01:52 PM

So you would add the image tags at the top of that template? :p Correct?

N9ne 07-31-2002 12:00 AM

Nope never. No longer interested in running any type of forum. Just building them for clients is all I do.

mashby 08-03-2002 05:59 PM

Corey,

Would would be doing a FANTASTIC service to this community if you would create an official template mod for your "image at the bottom of the category." It's a HUGELY popular request and no one hear has been able to figure it out yet. :(

DaTeX 08-07-2002 01:22 PM

Ok i could help a little i think.

I made it a my local Board and it works great.
You need to have install Breaking up the categories from eachother, u find it here http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/mo...=&threadid=125

Go to your ACP and open forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

Right at the top over </table> put this

<table align="center" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">
<tr>
<td width="48"><img src="images/catbleft.jpg" border="0"></td>

<td align="center" background="images/catbmiddle.jpg" width="100%"></a></td>

<td width="48"><img src="images/catbright.jpg" border="0"></td>
</tr>
</table>

Save this

Now go to your forumhome temp and search for $forumbits

Put right below

<table align="center" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">
<tr>
<td width="48"><img src="images/catbleft.jpg" border="0"></td>

<td align="center" background="images/catbmiddle.jpg" width="100%"></a></td>

<td width="48"><img src="images/catbright.jpg" border="0"></td>
</tr>
</table>

Save it

Now you only have to upload the images and your done!

Enjoy ;)

tehprophet 08-07-2002 03:09 PM

dont work ^

DaTeX 08-07-2002 03:13 PM

if you got the pn box or the whos online on top it works pretty good.

if you dont have it on top that doesnt work ;-(

Cyrus 08-28-2002 11:17 PM

It seems once you've added the code the pic is the size you want it but then the actual {contenttablewidth} changes.

mondaynightmike 08-29-2002 02:21 PM

Yes i think you need the PM box at the top :(

I'll try some more stuff.

mondaynightmike 08-31-2002 02:10 PM

Well i've done it :D w00t

You don't even need the PM box at the top :D

plus i've added it to the bottom of the shoutbox.

unvencible 09-02-2002 06:22 PM

Yeah, also worked fine 4 me! :D
thx guys!

Kikyourt 09-04-2002 06:32 PM

It is quite simple to add an image at the bottom of the your cat's. You just need to know how.

turdboy 09-05-2002 01:08 AM

This worked lovely. Thanks :)

TooNsTeR 09-07-2002 06:21 AM

If Im using seperated categories this doesnt seem to work for me.
It seems to work but only at the bottom category.
Can anyone help me with this ?

turdboy 09-07-2002 06:26 AM

That happened to me when I tried on my own awhile ago. Did you put the code in both forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost and Forumhome template?

Tony G 09-07-2002 07:00 AM

He added it in forumhome and thats why it didn't work.

You need to add it to one of the other forumhome ones, I can't remember the name yet.

turdboy 09-07-2002 04:06 PM

I have mine in both forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost and Forumhome template and it works fine.

Tony G 09-08-2002 12:08 AM

I don't see why you'd need one in forumhome if you can just put it in the category code to put an image at the top and then at the bottom.

Hmm..

turdboy 09-09-2002 02:29 AM

You need it in forum home because if you dont have it it wont put the image under the last category at the bottom. I figured it ot today when remodeling my forum.

Kikyourt 09-09-2002 08:03 AM

To do like yaxay:

Put in some html and such at the top of forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost - a table with your bottom catagory image.

Then save it.

Then go into your forum home and add the same table under $forumbits.

Then save that.

Now go into header and move you info about to get a neat table effect like yaXay making sure your info is at the bottom of header.

That worked really nicly for me on my last style. I am using again for xiWix v2.

And it does it for every category besides the last one?

Weird, I'll remember that one. :)

Yea it is weird. When I was a mod it wouldn't show up on my secret mod forums which were last then when I logged out it wouldn't show on my bugs and suggestion forums. So yup you need it in both.

Tony G 09-09-2002 11:09 AM

I just checked my forum and it's the same for it too. This vB can do weirs things. Wonder if there is any sort of explaination.

Oh well.

turdboy 09-09-2002 07:00 PM

Well basically what your doing with this mod in forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost is your putting an image on top of a category with a few spaces inbetween. Well with the last category there is no follow up category that has an image ontop of it so it cannot place the image under the last category. That's why we have to put it under forumbits.

Tony G 09-10-2002 05:41 AM

I don't think so.

It uses the same code for every category though. Not just all except the bottom of the last one. Sounds silly to me. O_O

Oh well..

fuzman 11-15-2002 02:08 PM

I gotta say that Datex's mod was the only one that actually worked to use a bottom cat image on my forums.. Thanks alot, man.... I've been lookin to do this for a while now and finally i got a sweet design goin.... much props and respect and all that jazz...:D
