[Release] Mod Column Removal
Author: SaintDog
Description: This will remove all instances of the moderators column from your vBulletin forum. |
Phoei! Much templates to alter, and I am wondering if it doesn't 'screw' up the design for my already modded frontpage. I will try first on my localhost version prior to my on-line live version. I downloaded the file and will soon try to find the time too, to install this. We are turning into a special usergroup for moderators, so this will come in handy. Thank you for sharing.

works fine :D although my forum home looks very wide now :(
|
Yeah its a lot of work. I have many of these templates modded and when I tried my forums ended up being butchered (test forums of course). I'll try again and see where it went wrong, I'd love to do this change to my forums.
|
Thanks SaintDog, I have been trying to remove it myself without any knowledge of a release like this, but I just can't get it...now I can! Thanks!
|
Hmm, I just did everything...but there is a black line on the right side of my forums..do you know what it might be?
|
thanks saintdog, will give this one a buzz

question. Now can you give the template that would put them back. I have no clue where to put the stuff i deleted.. lol.. I know im hopeless, but hoping someone can help
|
Just reverse the instructions, instead of deleting, go back and insert them (nothing much to do) :).
|
is says to remove the things.. i can't put back things espically when i dont know where they go? Your instructions only say remove. I dont know where to put them back
|
Usefull this hack...I like moddropdown but it takes only room....I think I use this and remove the mods :)
|
Well on my frontpage it works fine, but on sub-forums the moderator column appears, what can be the problem?

Hi People,
I haven't put this hack in yet, but I expect to do it in a day or so. Reliably restoring things to where they were is not difficult. There are two approaches, both will work. 1. If the templates you are hacking have not been modified previously, the software for editing them allows you to restore the original version with a mouse click. All you have to do is keep a record of which templates got modified with this hack. 2. If the templates you ae hacking have already been modified, you can copy and paste the existing text into Notepad (or any other text editor) and save them in your computer with their original file names before doing the hacks. Then you can reverse the hack by copying and pasting the previous versions back in. Pretty nearly foolproof. I hope this helps, Steve Price |
maybe you could make a mod to replace the mod section

is this remove moderators hack compatible w/vBulletin version 2.2.7 ?
i've also added spaces between my catagories & some catagory images. will it still work? |
okay. i did it. there was some messing about w/other codes which were altered in the first two hacks, but i got it. at least i think i did. :)
|
thx man i installed it
|
Saint Dog... Can you look at my board quick like and tell me what I've missed.... I'm html or bb code stupid.....lol
www.mcpherson-racing.com/Vb FYI - I couldn't find this....... Template: forumhome - COULDNT FIND..... Remove: <td bgcolor="{tableheadbgcolor}" width="20%"><smallfont color="{tableheadtextcolor}"><b>Moderator</b></smallfont></td> |
Saint Dog,
I figured it out..... I used my BRAIN and did it on my own... Thanks for making me think even though I probably made my own error by not reading 100% :) Great hack!! :) |
I too thought it was fairly easy. I appreciate the clear and concise notes you made on the template modifications. I could have spent hours trying to figure it out myself. Instead, with your notes, it was a five minute job. :D

I agree. This template modification was very easy. A little time-consuming, due to the necessity of changing ten different templates. But, the directions are crystal clear. Thank you, SaintDog. :)
|
Installed .. works great. But I got a black column, so I had to delete the moderator codes from forumhome_forumbit_level2_nopost and forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost also
|
Easy, yet good.
|
Thanks this is just what i was after and works great too. :D
Thanks Craig |
Many thanks, works great! :)
|
When in doubt, just comment them out instead of actually deleting... ;)
