Add Custom WOL Locations from ACP

<font color="red">Add Custom WOL Locations from ACP</font>

Description
This Hack allows you to easily Add/Modify Custom WOL Locations from your Admin Control Panel.
It is based on Trigunflames Version for vBulletin 3.0.x, who gave me the kind permission to use his Code.
Thanks a lot.

Princeton 06-17-2005 01:15 AM

excellent mod!

Link14716 06-17-2005 02:44 AM

If it takes no file mods, why is it in the forum for file mods? ;)

We are currently discussing what actually classifies as a Plugin and havn't decided a clear definition yet, therefore this Hack isn't classified as a Plugin at the moment.

Hi Kirby

Your instructions are a little rare ;)
To simply call your php file via the browser bar is not the optimal solution.
Could you either make instructions how to implement it into the navigation frame or make the xml file work as plugin (once the acp got hooked ;))

But thx for this nice feature.

StarBuG

Andreas 06-17-2005 05:53 PM

Hmm ... what instructions do you need/want?
There is a XML File for the AdminCP Nav - just upload it as stated in the Readme and there will be a new entry.

StarBuG 06-18-2005 11:01 AM

Oh sorry I missed that.
Forgot to login again ;)

Nice one Thx

I have no idea. If no one else encounters it, that's a good thing :)

Perfect for the Gallery hack. Thank you!!

/me installs

Update for Beta 3
The link now does appear in Navgroup Maintenance instead of creating another Navgroup.
Tu update, delete cpnav_customonline.xml and upload cpnav_customonline_b3.xml instead.

FleaBag 07-31-2005 12:44 PM

Working with RC1 Kirby. :) You might want to add to the instructions where you'll find the entry in the AdminCP, as I was baffled for ages before I scrolled down and saw your above post! ;) Good job using the same database fields as the previous version... It picked up all my old files. :)

sorry, i'm lost. Where does this link appear?

Boofo 07-31-2005 01:06 PM

Maintenace section in the admin cp. Where do you the db backup and the queries. ;)

of course, thanks very much

ConqSoft 07-31-2005 02:27 PM

Am I doing something wrong, or does this not support full paths for the filename?

(ie, /index.php is my Portal, but other index.php's aren't, so I need to specify.)

EasyTarget 07-31-2005 02:34 PM

noob question, what does WOL mean? (who's online? can't thing of anything else)

FleaBag 07-31-2005 02:49 PM

That's the one.

The 3.0.X version didn't so if this is a port I'd assume this one doesn't either.

Sovereign 07-31-2005 08:33 PM

YAY! Been looking for something like this! [INSTALL]
EDIT: One more thing, can this be made to accept something like "userpage.php?do=list"? Show this as "Viewing Userpage List" but show "userpage.php?do=edit" as "Editing Userpage" and all else with userpage.php as Viewing Userpage?

FleaBag 07-31-2005 10:56 PM

Not as far as I'm aware, I think you can only use the physical file name.

Sovereign 07-31-2005 11:07 PM

Then how does vB do it? I thought vB had something with threads that had multiple instances of the same file. Can this be replicated?

Boofo 08-06-2005 11:19 PM

I just tried adding userpage.php to this and it still shows up as an Unknown Location. Any ideas why that might be happening? ;)

Sovereign 08-07-2005 04:40 PM

Well, I added just userpage.php and the location "Viewing Userpage" which works. However, "userpage.php?do=edit" -> Editing Userpage does not work.

I also just added userpage.php. Can you pm me your EXACT setting for that?

Bad Bunny 08-28-2005 05:05 PM

Have it working. Nice work. And yeah, it had my old locations from before, which is great!

dookie 09-21-2005 05:35 PM

Nothing appears in Maintenace section, using RC3.

dookie 09-22-2005 05:59 AM

Works after editing cpnav_customonline_b3.xml.
But Links are not shown as links. Any support?

Andreas 09-22-2005 05:29 PM

Documentation Issue ;)
I'll update this as soon as possible.
If it's not up to date until monday, please bump the Thread.

Boofo 09-22-2005 05:34 PM

How would we add a link (for chat.php) like this?

http://www.yoursite.com/forums/chat/chat.php

Kirk Y 09-22-2005 08:35 PM

In RC3:

HTML Code:

<navgroups product="vBulletin">
Needs to be:

HTML Code:

<navgroups product="vbulletin">
Or the link will not show in the Maintenance group. (In the cpnav_customonline_b3.xml file.)

EasyTarget 09-22-2005 10:31 PM

does this work on rc3?

Kirk Y 09-22-2005 10:57 PM

Yeah... just have to fix the link. (In my above post.)

glorify 09-23-2005 04:26 AM

Like the hack, wish it had portal support i/e index and custom pages. Will keep it for my galleries.

EasyTarget 09-23-2005 10:27 AM

is there a way to make it so the link showing the page they're on is an active link so people can click on it, or a page description that links to the page on the wol box like the thread description links?

Andreas 09-23-2005 11:55 AM

Updated.
This is a fully phrased Product now.

dookie 09-23-2005 12:13 PM

Little DB-Problem in RC3:
There is no column for "showlink" in the table.
