Yup, a welcome panel, very generic :p

Just look at the preview if you want to see a working example, do note that nothing is displayed for guests.

For those concerned about queries, it does add 5, however the run time on these queries are on the average server below 0.01 seconds, for me they all execute at 0.001xx seconds - so it shouldn't effect performance too a degree you'd notice.

Why do we really need a Welcome Panel though ;)

Now that we have a navbar in > vB3 it kind of defeats the idea :p

I'm nit-picky about this kind of stuff, but shouldn't "Your most active in" read "You're most active in"?

EDIT - Also:
"Welcome Back {username}" -> "Welcome Back, {username}"
"there has been {x} posts...} -> "there have been {x} posts "

Would you mind if I posted another .zip file for those of us already using the "Get new threads and posts" plugin?

It would contain a slightly altered .xml file and template ;)

And it would save people two queries...

Ok - In this .zip there are three enhancements I have made, but you need not do them if you want...

[high]NOTE:[/high] The following enhancements have [high]already[/high] been made to the plugin and template attached in the .zip file in this post...

The first, is for those of us already using the "Get new threads and posts" plugin - I couldn't be bothered to edit the templates and remove it, so I saved myself two queries with this mod :p

The second is to alter the "Last visit" text:

Find in your template:
Replace with:
This, if you use detailed or yesterday/today time formats, will put "since your last visit Yesterday at 09:11 PM", for example, as opposed to "since your last visit 14-06-2005 at 09:11 PM"

Then you need to remove the following line from your plugin code:
The third enhancement is merely a template one - Just adding a bit of text and a variable for "Active members" :p

I think you can probably figure that one out for yourselves though ;)

By that, do you mean you only installed the Alternate version, or you had to install that to get it working...

If you only installed the Alternate version, you will need to re-install the "New Posts & Threads Since Last Visit" plugin by Zachery, found here

Nice, but I also seem to have a bit of a percentage problem..

We have total: 20,380-ish.

Upgraded to beta3 with little problems.
Active members is not working, I think it was working before upgrade?

one of my members was saying that it said there was 24 posts in the last 24 hours yet he couldn't find them, there had been but was in a private forum he doesn't have access to, can it be changed so a usergroup on knows how many posts have been posted that is relivent to them?

The percentage of posts and average posts per day are showing as zero to me. It may be a server issue, amykhar made a fix in the below thread for your similar hack - maybe this is of some use to you... It was to do with the way php handles the maths, and how slighlty different queries are required to function correctly on all servers.

I also request, if what Beermonster says is true, that permissions support be added. Although I suspect this may be an RC1 issue, as I've had some post counting problems myself.

Yeah, the percentages are out of whack for me, all show as 0.01 for me, but show ok to people with under 100 posts.

Is there a way to get the text in the box to be the same size as what's showing on Forum Home?

I have a little problem, all of my members are getting this:

Your total forum posts: blah blah (0.01% of forums total posts)

no matter what ammount it is, they're getting 0.01%

The error and means to fix have been posted above for ZT to look into.

The font doesn't match the rest of the forum. Nice but not friendly.

Hey nice going ZT, been awaiting this one being updated. :)

After I add this mod.. the forumhome is loading super slow..

When I import the XML file, it says 'Invalid File Specified'. What's wrong! I REALLY WANT THIS HACK LOL.

Can you modify this so it takes usergroup permissins into account?
If there are new posts in a private forum, it still shows up "there a X new posts" to users who don't have access to that forum. This is quite annoying for members if a lot of posts are made in the admin forum ;)

you have to make sure it's a plug-in not a product. mixing those up you'll usually get that kind of an error.
