This is something I thought might be cool -- lots of people do the 'bump' posts, and they're spam, and very annoying! So I went ahead and installed the merge double, triple, quadruple etc posts hack BUT Some members still want their threads bumped to the top of the forum, so I was wondering if someone could create a hack that allows members to bump threads?
Some Things I would like the hack to include:

ONLY someone that has posted in that thread (or staff member) may bump it.

A thread can only be bumped once (editable in Admin CP), only certain usergroups can bump threads more then once. (editable in Admin CP)

Thread Can Only Be Bumped After XX seconds, minutes, or hours (editable in Admin CP)

Thread Can Only Be Bumped Before XX seconds, minutes, or hours. (editable in Admin CP)

Only one bump is allowed in a forum for XX seconds, Minutes, or hours. (editable in Admin CP)

Can be enabled/disabled in adminCP.

I Would Be Eternally Grateful To Anyone That Makes This Hack!

Bumpity Bump

Great idea! I'd install it for sure.

Won't catch me coding it in this lifetime :D Bumps are the most annoying thing known to man. But, I believe there is already a hack, at least for version 2.x, that does what you want. You can always read the code of that and work out a port.

Of course, it's going to be hard to search for said hack because searching for the word "bump" is going to bring up 10,000,000 posts ;)

bump button would be cool for members or subscribed members.

and,

a "sinker" button would be cool for mods and admins.

Which is exactly why it would be nice to have it regulated/controlled.

While, I am not a huge fan of bumping, I could see some pratical uses of this. It would be nice to have something like a 2 max or a % of your total posts. Like 1% or something, so if you have 1000 posts, you could do 10 bumps.

agreed. or like a max. number per day.

theres already a hack for this...gives you the option to bump a thread or to make thread older...do a search bro

Yeah I Would Use This Too But Alot Of The Features Are Missing And I'm Not Sure It Would Fulfil Everything I Need. But Thanks For Going Through All That Trouble. If No One Has Time Or Doesnt Want To Make The One I Have Requested I Will Use That One :-)
