404 Error Ban
An updated version of my old hack done via plug-ins. Basicly, you stick a user in the 404 usergroup and they see 404 errors on every page.

Thankyou for this, very useful, it's like a not so horrible miserable users hack :p
Bad news: Unknown column 'pmpermissions_bak' in 'field list' When executing the query :p I will just make the usergroup manually instead... |
nice. can custom error pages be used with this?

Edit: Nevermind doesn't work I'll fix it in a few moments... |
any fix on this yet?
|
What worked for me:
[sql]INSERT INTO `usergroup` ( `usergroupid` , `title` , `description` , `usertitle` , `passwordexpires` , `passwordhistory` , `pmquota` , `pmsendmax` , `pmforwardmax` , `opentag` , `closetag` , `canoverride` , `ispublicgroup` , `forumpermissions` , `pmpermissions` , `calendarpermissions` , `wolpermissions` , `adminpermissions` , `genericpermissions` , `genericoptions` , `attachlimit` , `avatarmaxwidth` , `avatarmaxheight` , `avatarmaxsize` , `profilepicmaxwidth` , `profilepicmaxheight` , `profilepicmaxsize` )VALUES ('404', '404''d Users', 'Users who see 404 errors whenever they try to access the board.', '', '0', '0', '50', '5', '5', '', '', '0', '0', '127487', '3', '19', '1', '5319', '30', '7', '0', '80', '80', '20000', '100', '100', '65535');[/sql] EDIT: Note: I modifed the discription of the usergroup, but it's not important. |
Hmm. I forgot the code, but shouldn't this be modified to check if the member's secondary usergroup is the 404 one?
|
Brad, can you please update this for RC 1? ;)
|
Will this be updated for RC2 / gold at all ?
|
bump ?
|
an updated plugin for RC3 would be really appreciated :)
|
I do not like the usergroupid being set to '404'. When I add subsequent usergroups their id starts from 405. eg, 405, 406, etc.
Also, as per the more recent 404 Ban hack, on Firefox it just shows a blank page. I would imagine it works on IE. |
does work on 3.5.3?
|
Great hack good idea.
