As you can see, this board is now running a preview version of vBulletin 3.5.

The first thing you'll probably notice is lots of Javascript errors. These are caused by your browser having the old versions of the scripts stored in their cache. Simply hit the refresh button on pages that show an error and the errors should go away.

It's also important that you hit refresh on a showthread.php page before you try to use the quick reply feature, as some of the code behind this has been changed.

More news soon

sabret00the 05-21-2005 10:50 PM

yoyoyoyo 05-22-2005 11:02 AM

Warning: array_keys(): The first argument should be an array in /includes/functions.php on line 3009
:o :disappointed:

I had to login again - it obviously lost or ignored my cookie.

Think it's got to do with the persistent marked read thingy.
Don't see much difference on the frontend user POV though..probably most of the goodies on admin side

AN-net 05-22-2005 02:39 PM

yeah it seems most noticeable upgrades are via admin so really right now the preview isnt much until we can use admin features.

neocorteqz 05-22-2005 09:43 PM

Linkage to all Planned and released enhancements to the latest version?

dcarr 05-22-2005 11:55 PM

Very impressed with all the information available regarding the changes. Looks like it will be a very useful version.

RichieBoy67 05-22-2005 11:59 PM

Don't mean to hijack this thread but if it's one thing I can't stand is signatures that throw cookies at me.... grrrrrrr

I forgot what I was going to say regarding this thread now...

Logikos 05-23-2005 12:21 AM

hope the public version gets released soon!

akanevsky 05-23-2005 12:37 AM

Umm... For some reason I cannot see any changes in their demo from vB 3.0.7.. Even though I am running the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

RichieBoy67 05-23-2005 12:42 AM

I'm happy... All blocked... :)

Changes were more focused on the admin part not the users side.

RichieBoy67 05-23-2005 12:47 AM

The best improvement would be a patch for those of us that have modded boards....

Adrian Schneider 05-23-2005 01:08 AM

They should extend this to the admin demo. :)

akanevsky 05-23-2005 02:04 AM

Love 3.5, best improvement is the javascript refresh when posting. It's such a smart idea, I wonder why it didn't come up sooner? ;)

finally there's a way for us to reply faster than the 'quick reply' lol

The plugin architecture is a huge thing. How difficult will it be to adapt the hacks now in place on vb.org?

Adrian Schneider 05-25-2005 03:37 AM

We won't know until we see it..

What are next weeks winning lottery numbers ?

The answer to both is very similar - we don't know yet :)

Adrian Schneider 05-25-2005 03:42 AM

Well.. some people can (or claim to) be able to predict those lotto numbers! Maybe he is among us... :D

Paul M 05-25-2005 05:09 AM

Dunno if this has been mentioned anywhere but the newposts function has changed - read threads are no longer displayed at all (instead of being just unbolded) - this is an extremely irritating change - I often want to refer back to one I have previously read, now it's no longer on view.

Corriewf 05-25-2005 07:00 PM

No they just do not showup by default in search.php?do=getnew but you can add another bit on

serach.php?do=getnew&oldmethod=1

SMTP Mail Wrapper

Using vBulletin 3.5, you'll no longer need to rely on PHP's built-in email function mail(). You can now specify an arbitrary SMTP server with a username and password.

may be best thing because mass e-mail on 3.0.7 doesnt work for me, but on 3.0.5 it did
-shrugs yeah good stuff

There is no difference in the way 3.0.5 and 3.0.7 send e-mail - so you must have broke something. :)

Pain86 05-26-2005 12:05 PM
