Smilie Page Cutoff?
 

i have over 300+ smilies on the site, and what i want is when someone clicks View More Smilies link, i want there to be pages of smilies, instead of loading 300+ smilies on 1 page.

how is this done? option anywhere??

what you can do is use the Smilies Categories hack, that will build categories from your smilies directory... https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=65394

... use the search process when you're not sure... "smilies" and "categories" was used here..

i didnt want to have cateogries though. then i have to sift through all these smilies and choose where they go right?

to much work not needed. i just want something to break the page after XXX amount of smilies are displayed on 1 page, then there is a new page generated.

instead of building categories, just split the certain amount of smilies you want per pages into seperate directories, your "filter" will be done...

anyway, for each hack you install, there is actually "too much work" if you have to install it, so you have the choice of installing a hack or not, depending on your lazyness...

this request was never answered btw, the Jelsoft guys are happy with their actual tool, and i don't think this "pages" thing will be available for the3 actual 3.0x version... anyway, i suppose someone will come up with something serious one day!

i just installed it and thats not quite what i want it to do.

i have to make categories and put certain smilies in those categories. then it will just make a drop down menu for me. i rather have it show like 50 smilies a page, then have a next page option.

i guess i could just make a "page 1" as a category, then "page 2", and have 50 smilies in each page....

What about putting every let's say 50 smilies in a new Category. Name those categories "Page 1", "Page 2",.....

if i did that, it would show all the smilies on 1 page still.

Did anyone ever come up with a way to do this? The default that VB uses does nothing to limit smilies per any type of a page. Each category created is included on the single page of smilies when a person clicks "More"
