As soon as an admin sees this they will want to know your name as colin has indicated :)

Okay, I want it changed to Snake. I know it is taken but he got 0 posts and haven't visited the forums for about 2 years! He is no longer gonna be active so please let me have his name as I use it everywhere.

That's not possible, regardless of whether he has posted or not he may or may not be a licensed customer and that username belongs to him :)

Then why don't check if he's a customer or a person that uses vB illegaly? :nervous:

Actually I'm pretty sure the site admins CAN check to see if he's a licenced vBulletin user or not since we all had to validate our licences before posting here, IIRC.

But there *IS* a registered "Snake" at vbulletin.com - so you probably should give up on that username.

He just got his named changed over there ;)

Well even if the user is showing up as unlicensed, there is nothing to stop him from wanting to come back and perhaps renew his license one day. You should try emailing the user to see if he'll give you permission. Otherwise, I sincerely doubt you'll get it changed to that I'm afraid :)

Sorry for the newb question but I've never had to deal with this before and I am curious. Is the process for this simply to create a new user with the requested name and then merge users?

One can also just edit the user in the admincp.

Snake's was taken too with basically the same instance as the twisted name ?..no posts and hasnt been here in about 2 years..:( only name im actually known by :(

but the account Twisted belongs to a license, and Snake was taken by an unlicensed user.
