Something wrong with your database vbulletin.org?
Everytime I try to reply to my thread in the vb articles forum, it adds the reply to my first post! Is it supposed to be set up like this or???
|
It's an incredibly annoying 'anti spam' feature they added to prevent multiple posting.
I have lost count now of the number of times I have had something else I'd like to say in a thread, which would look wrong placed in my previous post, so I've not bothered saying it. It does more harm than good. Even worse is that offensive 'auto merged accidental double post' crap it adds to the bottom of your post....makes you look like some sort of idiot. As you may be able to tell, I am not the biggest fan of this feature! |
Thats crazy, if my thread doesn't get answered in a few days, instead of bumping it to the top, looks like we will have to start creating new threads every few days I guess, some threads just get lost and need to be bumped.
Nothing against the new features of this site or anything, but when people do bump threads, they get responses. |
There's a timer on it, I believe it's 12 hours.
|
Well I guess thats not to bad, since theirs a certain time limmit on it!
|
24 hour time limit i think.
And actually i like, i even use it. Instead of editing my post if i forget something, i just post a reply |
can someone give me permissions?? i want to download teamspeak hack, but i have no permission!

I forgot it was off in the Hack forums once, too :p I would like to say thanks to the staff for this feature, and also extend the thanks by saying that it is great that you allow deletion of own posts, just because of the new trap I fell in (the above) :) |

Xenon made it and if I am right he also made it so that when your posts are merge, the dateline will be the newest post's dateline that is merged. correct me if vb.org doesn't use that. |
the dateline of the post is not changed here on vb.org
as it should mainly prevent bumping, and with dateline changes, bumping would work again ;) |
what's the hack for this anti-spam feature?
|
It is a custom hack for vbulletin.org
|
Automerge doublepost.
Search in the vB3 Modifications for Automerge Doublepost, all threads started by Xenon. |
it's easier to look into my profile ;)
it's called prevent double posting :) |
Are you laughing at me?
Can't I have some glory? Heh :p |
I am the boss, all glory belongs to me :p
