Mass Revert Custom Templates

After looking through my dusty thread of my other modification, "Copy X Custom Templates To Other Style(s)", i noticed someone requested a similar modifcation to "Mass Revert" templates, so here it is...

Description
This modification will enable you to "Mass Revert" custom templates from a style, very easy to use and extremely easy to install. The program steps are:

- Select Which Style To Revert Templates From
- Select Template(s) You Desire To Revert
- Confirm Mass Revert Of Selected Template(s)
- Selected Template(s) Are Reverted

No preview available i'm afraid, as it does exactly what i've said in this post.

Feel free to post comments below, enjoy,

Thanks....you just made my life considerably easier :)

i'm questionning myself: why mass revert when you just have to delete that style and create a child one instead... same process/result...

Okay here's the scenario, you installed a couple of modifications on your forum, but you didn't like them, so you wanna get rid of the templates it added. You could mass revert, but that reverts all your normal templates aswell, which you may not want to do because you have modifications or a unique skin.

You can either, manually revert each template it added OR use this modification to remove all added templates in 1 go.

You see the point in this now?

Brilliant!

I needed this when I was beta testing the Articles hack. :)

Personally I do alot of work with vbportal and its very handy to strip all of my modifications out of the custom templates. Something else that works out well is during upgrading sometimes I have templates that need to be reverted on substyles and this greatly speeds that process.

question, does this mass revert to say a stock install of vbulletin, aka if I run this on my default style, then upload say vb3.0.7 un hacked files, and then run the upgrade .. I'll have a totally clean forum? or are there still things like phrases and other things I would need to clean up in my database as well?

just curious how much of a revert this can do?

This just reverts templates only, nothing else such as phrases and other additions, so you would need to remove any other custom modifications like phrases. Hence the title "Mass Revert Custom Templates" :)

very nice hack, really. I love this one.

functionally wonderful.

just very minor note on wordings:

in the installation.txt, you may want to change the ending

In AdminCP, where the description says
Quote:

Select Which Style To Revert Template(s) From
you may want to state something like after selecting the style, you will be lead to select templates which need to be reversed, or some "new" user might be thinking that all templates (mass) in the selected style will be reversed.

in the second step:
Select Which Template(s) To Revert

You should also display style names somewhere, maybe on top, so that people will know for sure they are removing templates in which style

Same for third step, need this style name too.

you may also want to add "Back" button, or "Cancel" if someone doesnt want to confirm, {s}he can go back to the first step
