How do I modify the Forum Jump menu?

I've searched around and tried to figure it out myself, but I'm lost... any ideas about how to add/remove links on the Forum Jump menu?

It's in the individual options for each forum.

You will find a "Show on Jump menu" setting in the forum settings.

Oops, sorry. I didn't see any of these replies.

That helps for adding/removing forums, but I'm looking to add links to other areas of the site (articles, gallery, journals, etc.)

I believe its in global :)

You can add a forum that will just be a link. Check the options when creating a new forum.

the function that creates the forumjump can be found in functions.php

if you want to remove or add to the menu you can do that by editing the forumjump template and forumdisplay.php --exec_postvar_call_back() function

I tried this since I'm not good enough with the code hacking to figure out how to modify the functions files, but I don't think this works because whatever I do to make it not show up on the forum index (whether active=off or display order=0, etc.) makes it not show up on the forum jump menu. :ermm:

Group,

Is there any way to only list the forums in the forum jump menu and not include the categories?

Is this feature inquiry already available as a plugin or program for plugins or would someone be willing to take the time to code this for us?

Thanks

Doug

For you categorys edit the settings to reflect 'show on forum jump menu' = no

dcpaq2xx 11-20-2005 10:58 PM

But when you do that what I have found is that it effects an "child" forums as well by removing those from the forum jump menu.

I only want to remove the categories, and not the individual forums.

Ah, right. I've not really played with the forum jump too much so I dunno. I thought that it still showed the child forums. Sorry.

Yeah normally you would think that would be true but for some reason It doesn't hold true for this senareo.

"Show this Forum and Child Forums on the Forum Jump Menu"

I think the problem is that it says in the above taken from the permissions page is the "AND".

Personally I think this should have been coded to just apply to the category/forum your currently editing the permissions for and not "this forum and child forums.

I wonder if maybe this is a bug in Vbulletin that someone over looked?

This is how I got it to show up:

For forum link (the second field) I entered: http://www.myforumname.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew
