I am trying to set up usergroups on my forum for a new project we desperatly need to begin and when in the admin cp i try to click to setup the usergroups i get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/ctfadmin/public_html/forum/admincp/usergroup.php on line 191

any advise on how to fix it?

Upload the original usergoup.php

now i can add the group but when i try and save it i get this:

Did you use the original vB 3.0.3 usergroup.php???

i dont have that one? know of anyway i could obtain it?

Nope, but you could get the 3.0.6 version and see if that works, :) (you can get it in the members area)

Might want to upgrade vBulletin and reapply any hacks.. but I am sure that is abit extremem at this point no?

well i found the 3.0.3 version uploaded it and same thing is occuring...so am i just out of luck or does anyone have any other suggestiosn for getting this to work?

This is really strange since this field is turned into a bitfield permission long ago.

And you are sure you are uploading a fresh downloaded, unmodified version of the script?

Could you please upload the version you are using. Make sure to remove minimal the first few and last lines containing your license number!!

PLEASE NEVER EVER EVER attach a vBulletin file from the zip, regarldess if it has or does not have the first few and last lines of the file, You are not allowed to under any circumstances post full files ANYWHERE. It is part of the license agreement.

destinydog - if its a new site, just wipe it clean and start from scratch and be careful when applying your file edits. It may be quicker and easier in the long run.

its not a new site..its been up for years...just recently had the need for usergroups..now im stuck!

the site is years old...so i guess im jsut screwed?

The best advice I can give you. is upgrade to 3.0.6 and don't install any hacks.

would i ahve to renstall the vbportal after the upgrade?

I am not sure, ask the makers of vB portal.
