10 dollars for 25 gigs worth of data is hard to beat. Been using that for awhile.

Most of the above listed sites have a no redistribution clause in their AUP :(

Has anyone found a usenet server service that is aware and friendly towards forums using their service to interface with the Usenets? If so, could you please post a link.

I have explicitly posted rules about proper Usenet etiquette in our policies but members still SPAM and then that comes back to our forum as the gateway. Giganews stopped our service because of this and I think one other did a long time ago. Any leads to friendly hosts would be apperciated...

As far as clients go, on Mac I use Unison and on PC I use NewsBin Pro.

another giganews user here.

I need to use a Newsgroup provider just to create new posts or reply to posts. However I'm in China right now and my provider doesn't offer this. I am not looking to download binaries or anything.

Are there free ones which will allow me to post? Or perhaps I can set up my own news server?

I am having some issues accessing giganews right now but the account appears to be functional. When I attempt to telnet to news.giganews 119 via SSH from the server, I get the following 480 error.

I know this is silly, but I have not been able to find the proper syntax to pass the user/password information.....

Hi all,i'm new to this, i have installed this mod https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=92588 and it works fine in that i get the posts from microsoft.public.excel etc but any post that i post in the thread for those isn't posted to the newsgroup, i think previously i saw a message "rejected ill formed message", does anyone know how to cure this?

If you have questions/problems with a modification or style, then please post in the thread (or support forum/board) about that modification/style. Best chance to receive a reply from either the author or another member using the same modification/style.

My apologies, i have posted in the thread for that mod but the author hasn't posted there in a very long time and as other users here are all using a gateway of some sort i thought that they may be best equipped to help with my problem!

I will try to find support elsewhere in this forum :)

May I ask, what exactly is usenet?

Usenet is like a giant discussion forum with its own protocol and covering every topic known to mankind. Google Groups is a web-based frontend to Usenet. Or at least it started that way.

Personally, I haven't been on Usenet in at least 10 years. Used to use it all the time before the web got popular in the mid-90s.
