seriouslly i need this really bad, too many idiots wasting my bandwidth :)

here's what you can do for now...

password protect all your files using .htaccess
and let your user buy forum access using ushop action...inside that forum will be the password to download the files. they can't download your files unless they buy the access to the forum where the password is stored. ;)

yeah but once they brought the access code they can leech as much as they want and even pass it on to m8`s

best one i can think of is for the shop to charge for attachment downloads.This way if they wanted to download something then they gotta have points and using the paypal hack that blends in with the shop u can make users buy bundles of points.
Dont give points for newthreads or newreplies and you be laughing but one small problem - there is no hack at this moment that makes u pay for attachments :(

I have something on my old board (vb2 w/ store hack) very similar that I had custom made. It allows users to buy files individually or buy 'store credit' in which they can buy credits for attachemts at a discount. The type of files that are charged for is easily changable in the control panel (like if I want .gif images to be free and .zip files to be paid for)

Then make your members pay to get a second usergroup and only allow that usergroup to download files

The only prob with that is it's one rate and not per file. Yeh it'll keep people from creating names and downloading, but it won't give people a reason to earn more $. On my vb2 version I can set a filetype to be charged for or not.

i've already thought about it, but decided i want a per post system...

it would be nice to implement uCash for downloading.

It's amazing how much more bandwidth I've been using since I don't have the pay per attachment feature in there right now (upgraded to vb3) It must've jumped a good half gig a day. That's why I need this feature so bad! ::anxiously awaits arrival of new ushop::
