Gio~logist Quits The Net!

Gio~Logist Quits The Net

I remember the first site i ever modded...Rhyme Crimez. It was so much fun being introduced to this whole new diff world. It was so interesting that i knew i just had to learn more. So i did, i kept learning and learning till all i knew was websites. I started to push school away, push friends away. Friends who were there for me since before i started websites. This net stuff has always been fun and it still is. Now that i know i can always come and fall back on this, it's time for me to start doing better in other places. Time for me to go back to Gio and living a regular 13 year old life. Not one that has to deal with monthly hosting bills, coding, web design, being a webmaster, and always worrying about money at the age of 13. It's time for me to go back to enjoying my normal life. With this said, it's time for me to say bye to everyone. Rest assure, i will be back....It was fun while it lasted.

I always said that if i ever quit it'd be with style so ima stop here before i get soft on you people. It's me boy gio~logist man, dont miss me to much ill be back....

It was fun wokring with vb these past couple of months. Helped me create alot of memories and enjoyment. Bye vbulletin!

Knawkout probably gonna say something dumb but o well.

As a 13-year old, I encourage you to spend less time online and more time in the "real world". :) Enjoy life, do sport, go shopping, hang out with friends, check out the chicks. Do it while you still can. :)

vBTotal 01-06-2005 01:05 AM

I recommend going out and gettn some

Lol im not a nerd and stuff Erwin. Im quitting mainly because i need to start thinking about my future and therefore i need to start doing better in school. As far as my image and my social status is concerned, lets just say, gio~logist and Gio are two different people :-D. I try to keep the net stuff, on the net. But yea, with more time on my hands now i will be enjoying life much more hopefully

Trust me, doing well academically will bear you well for the rest of your life. You can lose everything, all your material possessions, but you cannot lose your education. :) So you have your priorities right.

This is always recomended...:D

I remember 13 very well, sleepless nights on the my comp which at the time was in the family room of our old house (moble home :p). I kept the family up all night with the thing, dad hated the typing and my brother (who slept in the family room because I kicked him out of mine) hated the glare and the typing aswell.

At the time it was ubb that had me hooked, I had just got into hacking it and had just gotton into the internet heavy the year before.

Anyway long story short I know exactly what you are talking about, but unlike you I just kept on going, I loved my computer to much to give it up :p. Now a days I have my car and pocket money so I tend to go out and see my friends and stick to using the computer later at night. But its still the first thing I come to whenever I get bored ;).

Time off is good, enjoy it ;P

Sorry, but I cracked up when I read this!

When *I* was 13 we didn't have computers like you know in our homes (just commodore 64's, and yes, I had one LOL). We didn't connect to the internet. We idolized geeks in movies like "War Games" when you used an old-fashioned analogue corded-phone to connect with a 2400 baud modem (yes, 2400, not a typo), but not to the internet ;) There certainly wasn't UBB or VB or any BB, and a BBS, well I'm not sure the little local ones were even in existence yet (remember the ones you dialed into locally and used basically a dos screen to chat to other members with? Remember MUD rooms? Do people still MUD?)

And just think, when my mother was 13, they barely had color TV!

Good luck to you Gio~Logist... like all true computer geeks (a compliment) you'll be back :)

Education comes first, don't make the mistake that I've made this year :)

Ditto +++ Plenty of time in your thirties to ruin your life with the internet :)

Xenon 01-06-2005 11:55 AM

Yep, RL comes on first place.

but don't do to strict endings, the online life will increase in future, so you shouldn't get to far away ^^

Still enjoying the real world (if that's possible ^^) comes first

It's possible if you know the right people. ;)

Erwin 01-06-2005 09:01 PM

Real life is always more enjoyable. Online life is just more accessible. ;)

Hey, I bought my vB licence at 13 and I worked hard on my forum! That was my teenage-experience.

sabret00the 01-06-2005 09:15 PM

i love these threads.

dude when you're 13 theirs no much to do. theirs no pub, no women and no work in order to need a pub or women, damn this goo-goo gah-gah idea of yours could work.

but inevitably leaving threads mean you'll come back every day to see who cared and just never get round to not coming back.

Yeah, the nice stuff in life only starts at the age of 15/16, heh.

isn't it the other way round.

The time from bed to pc is real life, so it's easy to access it, but in online life you can ban or ignore those who don't like, in RL you have to work with them ^^

strongy 01-07-2005 12:30 PM

lol i didn't get a pc at home / go on the internet until i was 15/16 :P
the computers at school were all acorns with 1 pc in the library until i moved schools which had all pc's and i got to go on the internet :D

so it didn't really bother me, besides u can't leave the net behind eventually u'll want to go back on it :P and come back here lol u can't escape it
