It is a very nice system when used with IPB. I don't see why it would be any different with vB.
One of the plusses about it is that it makes it a simple matter to create two or three columns, with your forum pages in the center column (3 column) or right column (2 column). |
This looks pretty awesome...is it out yet?
|
It will be out next week (talked to the Author)
|
it looks very vBportal ish(very over cludered) and does it require alot of queries?
|
I have a highly modified IPB running with it - maximum 14 queries. There isn't a lot of load with it.
The 'clutter' is admin driven. Two or three column, and each block is created without hacking - turn them on or off from within the ACP. You choose whether you have the forum running within the columns or as a standalone. Actually a very clean and configurable piece of code. |
Im sorry, I am looking for a place to download this for vbulletin but do not see it. I went to their site, registered and dont see any download links. Is this free?
|
Give it about a week - the vB version hasn't been released yet, from what I can tell.
They generally don't run a wide-release public beta. |
I use it on an IPB board too. It's def one of the better portals I've used (and I've used many) It has a bunch of pretty cool modules, but for my vBulletin, I'm still going to use what I have now.
I think the biggest downside for most users will be the skinning side. It's a little difficult compared to the templating of vBulletin.. I have no problem with it though, so experienced skinners should be okay as far as that goes. But I would recommend it, it's very fast, very little queries, a wysiwyg editor for custom pages, etc. I won't get into it that much, there's a features list over on their website. EDIT: It looks like they have released m04 (the vBulletin working version) |
Moved to the lounge.

Well im always open to try something new. This portal looks nice- I will be keeping my eyes open for it.
