i see that just about the only good thing was done for that version was protecting us from the vbulletin sql injection flaw.

i thought after a long wait it would be the best update yet but its just a tiny one :(

I would have thought it was pretty self explanatory really, it means .... 3.0.4 has been released. :)

Guy G 01-02-2005 03:08 PM

redoing all the hacks and such.... might do at over the weekend...

for now only the injection is the one im going to patch..

deathemperor 01-03-2005 05:36 AM

I don't like to know this, it's hard to rehack all things....<_<

This is a minor release because the big release is still in the works. When the SQL injection was found and they decided to go with a 3.0.4, they backported all the bug fixes to the 3.0.x core. The big release that they have been working on for all this time will make its presense felt, and hopefully soon.

atleast vb works hard enough to protect us from anything, thats all what counts.

Well I've just rehacked one of my sites but thats the least hacked one. I'm just going to change from v3Articles to the geek articles system as I was going to change that anyway before 3.0.4 came out.

It fixes something like 50 bugs, too. Did you see the huge list in the announcement thread?

I count 111 fixed bugs.

Just upgraded mine without removing any of my hacks ( too many to find :) )

Araxis Merge does a great job

burnist 01-04-2005 01:05 PM

Luckily, i had just closed by board off to re-hack everything with new version and clean bugs up litrally(s/p) 30 mins before the upgrade went up :)

Moparx 01-04-2005 05:52 PM

it didnt take too long to rehack my forum.. it pays to have everything sitting in a folder so you dont have to look around for the hacks

Erwin 01-04-2005 08:49 PM

With Araxis Merge, took me less than 30 minutes of actual work to upgrade a fully hacked forum.

Araxis Merge ? what does it do ?

okay I found it, gonna try it soon

Link14716 01-05-2005 03:50 AM

Araxis Merge, Beyond Compare, etc can take 2 folders and compare the contents of them, telling the exact changes in each and every file.

I usually compare my board's files to an unhacked version of the same files and see what exactly I hacked in, then use that to rehack the new files.

Upgrading now, might as well do it now since we're still on 3.0.0. Lots of database changes and with an attachment table of 1.5GB it takes a while. :P

Good luck upgrading, everyone.

EDIT: Went smooth. I'll go away and come back to vbulletin.org in a year like I've done lately then. ;)
