Let it be known

Because of the fact that i adressed noppid with the matter of the battle hack i had and didint purchase FROM him, we spoke and im now authorized to use it. However, all these other rap sites are NOT and therefore they are being sued. Now they think i ratted them out because im the only one not getting in trouble.

Now basically im getting threats left and right about people hacking my site www.urbandynasty.com/forums and my computer. I thought i did the right thing by approaching noppid like a man and telling him what i had on my board. However, it's costed me the hatred of alot of people.

Is there anyways to secure my site like 100% or let it be known that if they hack my site they can be sued and taken to jail?

Hacking is illegal so you don't have to spell it out.

No site is ever 100% secure - on top of forum software, you have web software, operating system software and kernel, and other software running that are vulnerable - you need to keep things updated.

ok so i can indeed sue, and what if they delete admin log!??!

hacking is taken very seriously in the US and is considered a Federal Offense and the F.B.I will track the hackers down and serve them justice or recruit them into their circle of hackers vs hackers.

Uh... your server has other logs besides the "admin log".

What battle hack are you referring to and where did you buy it from? All the sites using a battle hack stole it from the same source?

Dean C 12-29-2004 08:52 AM

I wouldn't worry about a thing if I were you. There's a lot of big talk on the internet about hacking, most of the time no-one knows a thing they are talking about. However, do take a backup of your database via SSH every night, add a .htaccess password-protection on your admin/mod folders and make sure your mods change their passwords (and that you do indeed trust them not to leak their info and let someone screw up the board).

And in regards to sueing regarding internet matters, it's not worth the finance in most cases.

noppid 12-29-2004 03:23 PM

Sueing does work, I took out two domains yesterday doing it. :)

I expect the thrid to take two weeks to take down, but I know I will be successful.

Anyone else wanna play?

*thinks about how happy he is that noppid gave him approval withthe battle hack*

Well, my admin panel is protected with directory protection that has a pass like ")&*@%*@&%@&*@" and if they get past that there's always the pass in the admin panel. As for them, i guess they're just jealous that they were idiodic enough to try and hack noppid's comp and cell phone instead of just confronting him like a responsible person.

just what the blue f*ck is going on here? :P
No, seriously. I wanna know. If posting the full story would be against some rule or whatnot, then I request a PM with a more indepth explanation.
Maybe Im just bored, but at any rate seeing two threads about this has raised some interest :p

Gio~Logist 12-29-2004 06:40 PM

What happened was that noppid made a battle hack that is copyrighted and people needa buy it from him to use it. Now people have it on their site without having paid for it and stuff.

Since this is really a private matter between a few individuals, I am closing this thread. Feel free to contact me if anyone has a problem with the closure of this thread. :)
