Merger of VBT and VBORG?
 

When is this supposed to happen?

When all the planets are in alingment :)

We are still working on the fine details to make the transisition as seamless as possible.

offtopic but what does this proverb means ?

It's harder than you would think because a lot of members have accounts on both sites and we need to ensure they are merged properly. :)

Basically, when everything is 'aligned' meaning when everything is going to work perfectly.

LOL Most of us will be spending tonight and tomorrow with are familys, at least one would hope ;)

As for the merge as others have said, once we get it 'right' in testing it'll go live. :)

What they mean is like in my case where both of my names are the same.

Good question, assuming you own both usernames, then you'll have preference over which username to choose.

Suggestion Again - Thread Subscriptions is another important part over here :), i wonder how is this gonna get handled

Actually, usernames are associated with e-mail address - if you are using the same e-mail address you are here and on vBT, then your accounts will be merged. Update your e-mails!

@Usernames: the vb.org username is the main username, as vbt will be importet INTO vb.org

He won't. e-mails are merged, so Dan and .dan will automatically link. vB.org's username overrides the vBT one, so you get Dan here, with all your posts from .Dan on vBT merged.

i am worried now.. i have many important tweaks on vbt, which will again be needed when i have to hack forums again when a new version comes in :)

Well, the impex should be able to handle subscriptions normally, but you should better read over at vb.com for more special infos about it.

But we will modify the importer so the installed button will stay correct for the imported threads :)

See this is where my idea of webmastering would kill us all because at somepoint I would just move it all and worry about it later :)

thats a really big bad issue about webmasters these days. They care more about having the site open then taking time to fix bugs and issues. :/
