About this hack:
This hack allows users to thank someone for a post without making a big mess on your forum. I'm sure most of you HATE when people just make a post that says 'thank you'. Also, for those people who don't like making the 2 word post, this gives them a chance to say thanks. It's also good for users of your forum who post something helpful and want to see if people really used their information.

There is a similar hack called 'Automatic Thank You Hack'. That hack only lets you thank the first post of a thread not just any post. It's also unsupportive and was release for an older version of vbulletin.

Features:

Places an easy to use button next to the edit button
Separate looks for postbit and postbit_legacy
Places all Thank Yous into one small box
Users can't thank twice
Users can't thank their own post
Guests don't see 'thanks' button
Separate PHP for actions
Option to turn off hack for individual forums
Option to turn off hack for all but first post of a thread
Option to turn off hack view of date for separate or all forums
Counts how many thanks a user gives
Counts how many thanks a post gets
Update Counters in ACP (found in 'Import & Maintenance')
Shows how many thanks a user gave in every post of his
Shows how many thanks a user gave in profile
Shows how many thanks a user got
Shows how many posts or a user are thanked
Shows info in profile
Administrator can remove all Thank Yous from a single post
Uses Phrases

Turn on and off hack for only some forums
Ban Usergroups

Queries: 14 excluding phase and template queries (installer installs it)

That first link I talk about in my post. It's only for the first post of a thread.

The second link is TO THIS THREAD ???? Of course were related!

Very useful .. nice and simple and installed with no problems.

Can you make it look more like a regular post like the other thank you hack does?

mine dont work ive followed the instructions but the thank-you button dont show

any ideas?

Did you follow the modifacations in the installer? you can go to: /admincp/post_thanks_install.php?step=dofileedits and follow the instructions.

I had not liked that so much. I like it looking more of a speical thing part of the post. It shouldn't stand out too much.

No clues realy. I'm sure you uploaded the image and to show the image doesn't even have to do with an <if> so even if the hack wasn't installed, you should see the image.

yeh i uploaded and did everything it said all i got is the standard post reply button

Can you PM you Postbit template (after you made the changes)? Make sure you put it in [html] tags.

Ok, I got some help and got it fixed.

Your hack install does not take into consideration for people with prefixes on their table names.

Question:

Can these "Thank you" posts be deleted?

Can this be fixed to display only on the original post in the thread?

I like your hack better than the other version, but prefer it to show up once per thread.

is there a uninstall php file just in case it does not work?

I installed the hack but I see nothing anywheres.

My hack lets you thank every post, not just the first. Meny times a person will post a very useful post somewere in a thread not just the first post. I may com out with settings that lets you turn off on all post exect for first.

Yes. I full uninstallation is found in the install script. It also shows you what you have to delete from the files and templates.

No, the user's post count wont go up.

When you delete a thread, do the thank you posts get deleted, too?

No, they wouldn't get deleted. They wont create any errors though. Do you realy want to start making 10 file edits that that they DO delete when you delete a post? Also, the thank yous are only saved in a seperate table nothing to do with the posts.

Just for the info, so no-one has to post about, next version will have, once you say 'thanks' you wont see that button. Also, the button will be removed from PMs.

That doesn't work either.

It does not thank, but the button stays and after you thank, it throws an extra button between posts.
