Searching for a way to intergrate a photo gallery with vBulletin
I REALLY like this photo gallery integration with vBulletin:
http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=121 I am looking for a mod to do that. Thanks. |
thats not a gallery :)
they are using a normal forum |

I thought I found a full-page thumbnail gallery somewhere on the site that linked you to the respective forum. Kind of like this (but more thumbs): http://www.cgtalk.com/index.php? |
the cgtalk/ballistic publishing coders modified the original vb to create a gallery/forum. there may be a gallery table but i am not sure, this has yet to be completely figured out but it includes some kind of storing of images and using GD library. i would suggest contacting the admin over at cgtalk.com, forget his name i know it starts with an L but i am a member there(Antonbomb22)

You may want to try and integrate 4image gallary into your vbulletin. Its a really nice little image galary and it uses vbulletins login and whos online and stuff. :)

Do you know the URL to 4image? I did a search but I don't think I found what you are referring to. Thanks. |
Here you go bud. I'm not using it right now because I need another mysql database and all of mine are used up so I have to wait till I upgrade my hosting account, but I will use it in the future:

Thanks for the demo site. I was looking for the URL to the 4images site. I think it is http://www.4homepages.de/
|
Yeah thats their site, but most hosting companys will have 4images pre installed in a script for you.
To integrate it with vbulletin like that site I posted above, here is the hack: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...hlight=4images |
Thanks for all the info!
But I don't think that 4image and its vB integration are quite what I'm looking for...maybe someone will come up with a mod for the way cgtalk did it. |
anyone?
|
I really don't see what's so special about their hacks... can you post a screenshot? Your account may show something differently from mine...

An account isn't needed to see the functioning of their site (only to post messages). Do you think you could create a site that functions like theirs? If so, please tell me your charge for the mods. Thanks. |
wait for vba gallery to be released :p, in the beta stages atm.

For the sake of clarity please define what you mean by "integration" with VB? Are you looking to duplicate 100% the look & feel of CGTalk or is there something else that you're trying to accomplish? |
I would like to 'nearly' duplicate the look and feel of CGTalk. The only difference I would like is to have a separate gallery-thumbnail page (in other words, an expanded version of the six thumbnails at http://www.cgtalk.com/ where each thumbnail would have a title (and two more fields which would be completed by the person posting the picture).
If a user clicks on the thumbnail it would enlarge the photo. On both the thumbnail page and the 'enlarged' photo there would be an option to "comment on this photo" link. If that link is clicked a thread would be created (if one hasn't been created yet) where the user could make comments to the posted picture. If a thread has already been created then the user would be directed/linked to that respective thread. This thread would be integrated into the respective vB forum (with the thumbnail on the forumdisplay page, see: http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=133 So on the forumdisplay page the thumbnail would be next to the thread title (if a picture was being commented on) otherwise a 'message' icon (see the icon I used for this post) would be visible in the same column that the thumbnails are in. Of course I would pay for this mod. |
