vB Hacks Redesign
 

Hey guys, just uploaded my new style i've been working on. What do you guys think? Like, disslike... Trying to get away from the dark theme :p maybe its a little better then the stealth style we were using lol. Anyways, would love to hear suggestions... :)

yeah the blue and orange cirlces/spheres kind of give me the impression of yaxay and the also just the whole scheme. it might be just be but i think it sort of resembles yaxay but nice work anyways;)

And where did i rip from yaxay? only think i could see is the colors.

It seems anyone who makes a skin now with orange and blue, and use the top and bottom tables mod for images are considered ripping. Ya i was inspried from yaxay, only thing close to ripping is the postbit buttons being on the top of the postpit. I put alot of work and time into that style, made all the images myself and placed every piece of code in the style there by hand.

Chris i would consider keeping shut also, you don't see me posting about you ripping the Olsen Twins and given them breat to show on your site. If you put have the time in your style as i did, then you and our other 2 members of your site would understand why im abit ticked.

Liquid1ce i would wait till you know what your talking about. i didn't deisgn the matrix site you fool, i simply ported it. And bye the owners request, he wanted the link out seeing at it was a dead link. Go yell at iNET Interactive for taking the whole designed by image off of the site. Clealy ravio design yaxay, but where is it?

Humm okay, I think I see your logic. An uncopyrighted faked image of the Olsen twins, using only their heads, naked cannot be on anyone's site without the permission of the Olsen twins. Yeah, I don't see it somehow. There are no members to my site, considering that's what it is, my website.

I find it quite funny that you're trying to stand up for yourself with this when you did clearly rip certain elements from yaXay. If you want to embarrass yourself I can quite easily point them out to you.

Not to mention that you've ripped the original ravio design and are claiming it as your own design on http://www.initialz.com/ . Or are you going to claim no you didn't rip the ravio design the graphics suddenly just came to you out of thin air?

Not one image designed on vBhacks.us is from yaxay. Like i said, i was clearly inspired by them.

yaxay icon key -vs- vbhacks icon key? not even close! Got rid of vbs drop dhtml menus on my forumsdisplay. unlike yaxay. I changed just about evey single image that comes stock with vBulletin.

The footer don't even come close to yaxays. Love how they did it. but i settled for how i did it. Postbit couldn't even come close. Besides the buttons on the top. And if you say the info is on thr right. haha nvm..... Or log ins are so diffrent its not funny, where are PMs sit. Don't even come close to mine. I have mine like the vB2 default as they have number link.

Also the same with Initialz.com. Colors are the same, but not 1 image is ripped. I don't even have many images on initialz.com. Plus no flash in my header like ravio. I have to run now, i'll play with you noobs later.

When I received the e-mail about the new design, I went over to vbhacks.us to see what it looked like as I love seeing new styles emerge. I always wade through posts on designer forums or vbforums just to see cool and unique styles that people come up with.

In all honesty, when I saw your design I immediately thought of yaxay. That was the first thing that came to mind. Not just because of the colors used. But because of the way the graphics were used plus the entire color scheme. But, for whatever reason, there are so many really good designers who create nearly identical yaxay themes. I'm kind of getting disappointed and bored when I excitedly enter a vb forum with a new design (in high expectations) only to see it's once again leaned towards the yaxay style.

However, I do not think that this is wrong. What I would say is that when something is really heavily inspired where the similiarity is so big as in this case, I'd not count it as a unique and diverse piece of art. The amazement concerning the design is zero for me as opposed to you having coded it all yourself. I find that very respectable and really good. Hypothetically speaking, if you had submitted this template in a style contest, I'd give the style 1 point for creativity and 10 points for coding skills. But if those are the colors you simply fancy the most, then nothing wrong with that. And nothing wrong with being heavily inspired either in my humble opinion as long as it is not ripped which it isn't as you've clearly stated.

I don't see the problem. But I guess that's the unconventional hippie in me.

I say kudos to everyone who can come up with complex styles. I say double kudos to everyone who can come up with unique designs AND complex styles.
Whether they're my taste or not is irrelevant. :D

NietzscheKid i have a great deal of respect for you now, and i thank you for your comments. I myself would only give myself 1 point for creativity. But i did spend a great deal of time in getting it coded so thats why i take offence when people just come and say.

I don't usually bother mentioning rippers, because it never gets anywhere. It probably won't in this case too because it seems Moderation (on any website) is too lax to do anything. However, just for the sheer fun of it, I'll carry on.

Now Corey isn't no saint anymore but he still deserves the respect of people blatantly not ripping his designs.
Seeing as the issue of yaXay was brought up first, we begin with this.

The vBhacks.us logo is rip #1. All you've done is simply taken yaXay's orange and blue globes and mixed them in together.

Rip #2 of yaXay is done by another piece of your portfolio which is http://www.computerproblems.org/ As you can clearly see the login area has been blatantly copied off yaXay, the only thing you bothered to change is removing the dots.

Secondly, we have you ripping the ravio design. Your site, http://www.initialz.com/ proves this. http://web.archive.org/web/200209231...p://ravio.com/ (may take a while to load, is the original ravio design).

First we'll take a look at your intro section compared to ravio's intro section. Anybody notice the identical text?

We then have the nav bar rip. Your nav bar has a little hover effect. Looks nice it really does. It's a shame that it has already been created exactly the same a long time before. Check out http://www.hostingdiscussion.com/ (designed by ravio).

From a screenshot taking by someone of your initialz website only last week you had a much more similar site to ravio, now you've changed it a little bit, but hardly much. You still used the same "Buy vBulletin" image that ravio created.

So Live Wire, I'm pretty curious about how you have come to design the exact same elements of ravio's designs (http://www.ravio.com/ - http://www.yaxay.com/ and http://www.hostingdiscussion.com/) is it pure psychic ability and you've never seen them before, or is it just because you cannot design at all and rip all elements of your design? I'm most interested to know.

lol thats pretty funny, so basicly i have ripped the the logo of yaxay.com and a 5x5 pixel dot? And you took screen shots of my site weeks ago? And the only thing that i will admit on using was the got vbulletin banner.

And about the contant on my site, ya i used his. Thats the other thing i'll admit. One i don't speak very good english so its hard to keep going back and forth from a spell checker, and text. But i did take the contant down as i am guilty from using that. But the little button on my header of initialz.com was not ripped from that forum you mentioned. Belive it or not thats acually a qwinkadink that there rather simalar. Either way, banning me from yaxay won't do anything. And i highly doubt i'll be getting banned from vb.org. for using some contant that i did indeed take off.

Also about the computer problems image. Thats just the same color. The shape is diffrent and so is the shadeing around it complely. Its close but looks like ++++ acually, and pretty embarressed having that there as my portfolio. allwell....

Well if your happy working with and using other images created by designers who`s permission you dont have then fine.

It says a lot cause if you plan on being taken seriously at all then folk will take one look at this and laff. It exposes the truth that some kid somewhere is looking for a fast $$ like 90% of the other kiddys on the net these days.

Whats funnier is that your rippin off one of the most ripped designers ever , ravio. Who byt he way was also a giant fraud stealing £1,000`s from folk. Great advertisement that ;p

Evidence has been shown for both sides, but remember two things:

1. Copying absolutely anything that another person has created is a copyright violation.
2. Jelsoft has no tolerance for the infringement of intellectual property rights.

Not to make a judgement call on your actual setup, but be warned that we do not hesitate to ban users who demostrate a lack of respect for such laws. If you want feedback on your forum, I strongly suggest removing details that could result in this conversation ever taking place.
