Best Live Chat with vB 3.x?

What is the best live chat to integrate with vB 3.x? Considering the base chat software itself and the available integration hacks. I want to run the base chat software on my server, not with a 3rd party.

Thank you,
rob

Real chat is so cool!

You might have to register at Boofo's but it is well worth it!!

For a non-java/plugin approach try phpMyChat - I've heard great things about it - is there anyone else around that uses a different chat software that doesnt involve java/irc/etc just web based :)

I haven't played around with it much yet, but Flashchat seems pretty interesting, and it's only $5. :)

Tigga, has Flash Chat been intergrated with vB? If so are there any sites that I could see in action?
Thanks in advance

Tigga 07-27-2004 06:17 PM

Yes, it's fairly easy to integrate. IIRC you just un-comment a line and enter your vB license number. :)

Thanks, bigman!

I'm fond of irc servers, but depending on how you are hosted having one on your own box can be tricky.

Very true. I wonder if anyone has used and chat programs with live voice and video intergrated into vB?
Hmmmmmm?

I don't suppose you could elaborate on that could you? (i.e. what exactly has to be edited out and in, and where)? Thanks.

Bush Music, Digichat supports those featues, nb for a handsome fee

Realchat is the best as far as I am concerned. It is the most configurable chat room I have ever seen. And it is one of the few, if not the only one that doesn't make you download a java certificate to use.

For me too please :squareeyed:

vbXirc is really good.. I would let you see how I have it integrated, but you have to be a member! It does make you download a certificate, but it gets into a IRC chatroom.

I have this installed on one of my forums, there are full intergration instructions, only takes a few mins to install and works great, and even better for me as I live in the UK so with the exchange rate it's only ?2.78 :D

Hands down the best I've come across yet is at:
http://www.ncom.dk/webcast/index.php/content_eng/cid=53
check out their community demo.
His pricing is really high though, now that the demand grew so much, but it does perfectly integrate with vb and all nuke platforms.

I just looked at a demo of Flashchat, and theres no question about it, Im getting it. Thanks for the original link Tigga.

Real chat is the best as far as I am concerned.

Realchat looks good... I'm using FlashChat right now but considering a change, primarily because FlashChat seems to slow my site down on busy days (With some events we get 50-100 in the chat room at a time).

Which chat would work better for large groups of chatters?
