no more support for statistic version 2



In the next days we will release a new statistic Version (vB Statistic 3).
For this reason I give from today on, no more support for the Statistic Version 2

This version is bigger, faster and we want to publish the statistic in two languages. (german and english).


In order to use the new Statistic Version, the old version must be unfortunately removed.

May someone will translate our Phrases from the new version 3.0 into other languages. If you are interested please send me or Onkel_Tom a PM with your eMail Address and we will sent you the phrases file in english to be translated into other languages.

• Statistic Version 3 have more as 7000 Lines of code and possibly, one of the largest Hacks that was ever written for vBulletin.
• More as 450 different images

Statistic Version 2


The board statistics 2,0 indicates hundreds of perfectly redundant and uninteresting datas over the current board.

The statistic show the Space Used by Attachments, the winner of the golden pineapple up to search robots, browser and operating system of your users etc.

The board statistics 2,0 is the advancement of the version 1, however 70 % of the code one rewrote and one modified.
All Templates are "wohlformuliert (validate) " written and correspond now to 100% the XHTML 1,0 standard.


What knows the statistics?
The statistics consists of 2 parts.
On the one some user datas will logged:

Sidecalls
Number of the visitors
Browser and operating system of the visitors
Countries from those the visitors come (Now all 254 images for the flags, in the old version are present were missing there the one or other flag)
Spiders (detect 92 different)
Referer and the Top level domain

The other part consists of the announcement and evaluating well-known data and/or sizes among other things:

Announcement of the TopPoster
User Activity
Announcements of the longest, most popular topics, forums etc..
Announcement of the last inquiries,
Stickys, search words many extended announcements when desired in PopUps.

and much other more.

Installation
The installation is simply and been made by one installationscript. (with approx. 3200 lines code)
36 new templates 8 new data base tables is installed and more then 300 datbase inserts made in the new tables.
All in all the installation takes maximally 5 - 10 minutes.

The statistics is managable over the Admincp.

The Templates and php code are developed in a "pcfreak moderate building block" principle. It should not difficulty to write appropriate extensions for the statistics.

Ok. Now the we come to the hack.
Download Zipfile, unpack and follow the installation instructions.


Delete all old data base tables for those, which installed the old statistics, and the old templates, before you install the new version.

Now it is possible show some statistics about this great mod.
Downlaod zip.file and install.
For user with an old version of the statistic hack (before 29.8.2004) change the statistic.php with the new one.

Hmm ... the attachments are stored on vB.org, so Traffic shouldn't be your problem ;)
Btw: Using JPEG for screenshots normally isn't a good idea at all.

Installing now but i have to say if version 1 is anything to go by then version to should be great :) Once again thanks for sharing such a fine hack.

You might consider using single quotes for strings that don't contain variables, saves processing time as PHP doesn't have to check for variables then.
Using german variable names is somewhat ridicolous and makes it difficult to read the code, although I am a german native speaker ;)

There are afew spelling mistakes in some things, how can we correct these. Such as

Titel

should be

Title. ?

ya... when we code on a tool, it's better understanding to use the tool's coding protocol... vB is in english, so do the code... anyway, is good hack this one is!

That's not a spelling mistake but a phrase that is not yet translated ;)
Titel ist the german translation for Title.

Don't know. Just check in phrase group manager if there is such a phrase and if so translate it.

There is no phrase for it.

Dont take this the wrong way PcFreak :) Its just meant as a suggestion, maybe ask an english speaker to help when making hacks that you are going to post on an english board? :) I am sure lots of people will be willing to help, apart from afew German words in this it i still great work and appreciated.

You should use phrases instead of hardcoded text in the templates :)
Makes it easier to use this hack with different languages.

My english is not very well.
But the hack or the templates are "open source".

Perhaps someone convert the templates to better english. No problem make a installation script only for installing the templates.

Ok I had the old Stats 1.0 hack. Removed it completly. Install the new Stats 2.0 hack as writing. So when I go to the statistik.php file, I get this database error

i installed this and when i go to statistik.php i got this

Sorry, but I can?t give help for your problem.
Because the table "stats" is a orginal table.

I have check the querie in the statistik.php. Cant found an error there.
I think there is a Problem with the TABLE_PREFIX

Nevermind. The table is a defualt. :D. Stupid me. :(

Guess I am off to get into his cpanel and figure out if it is missing or if it is the table prefix. ;)

I need the drop tables, because i have relaese this hack in two different languages. Some of the tables have different inserts e.g the statistik_laender table.

There are two different installation routines (and i must check both)
Thats the reason for the "drops".

Updated. :p. Well, it was because of that. He did not have the stats table. O_o. But anyway, this is pretty neat hack! Wish I had a public forum to add this to. :D. Keep up the good work! :D

Well, I don't know wether anyone of you uses table_prefixes. But on my board I use them and because of that, the installation script was giving errors. After fixing I had the problem ith all other scripts.

Well I am and when I run that query in mysql I still get the same error. So it is something in the query because I check all the pm tables to make sure there wasn't any bad with them.
