What about installing the "Download forum thread" hack here at vbulletin.org?
I'd appreciate it to be able to read longer disussions offline as a text, e.g. threads about popular hacks like Boolean search ... there is a lot of information contained in these threads which would be helpful to have it as plain text or a printout.

How do you think about this? :)

Well, i thought about that myself already, but you come to one problem:
If you allow downloading a thread inclusive the content of code tags it would be easy for illegal users to dl all threads to spread the code tags content.

on the other hand, if you remove the code tags while downloading, it would be nearly useless then.

so that's why we don'T have it installed here.

How about restricting the feature to registered / authorized / members?

Even still we have registered members here who distribute the modifications :(

Yep, but it's about the same with the hacks. ;)

I friend of mine told me, that Member is spreading Hacks, and even vbulletin (spyfixed by that member) on... err... [edited].

well, we have those who grant illegal users a short time access just for downloading the infos shortly and then getting unlicensed again.
so until a new better system is in place (and Jelsoft is working on ;)) i'm sorry but we cannot add it right now.

File >> Save as in there browsers then read at leasure later?

"Browser save as" would save only the page you are reading, not the entire thread if it is split into multiple pages ;)

Also it saves all the images, css and js files which people may not want :)

hmm, save as .txt doesn't save the js Dean :)
