vbskins Dungeon skin
 

I have been looking to buy the Dungeon skin for vb3 that vbskins.com made awhile back and was going to right when they went down... It was a low cost design and was perfect for what I needed on version2 of my forums. Although it was Beta we can upgrade easily...anyway, I was wondering if anyone still had this and if they did, pm me please. I would like to ask you a question about it... Thanks

I bought every skin they had and still have them but they are so outdated on the style file that I can't use them. Does ANYBODY know or can help make them where I can use them again? I had every single forum totally customized but then there just never were anymore updates and the site disappeared :( Money wasted if I can't figure out a way. I do great graphics but am hopeless on updating styles... I wouldn't have a clue!!! ANY help would be soooo appreciated. I am now running vb 3.03.

Raven, it would require recoding the style to work with the current version. which could be alot of work.

Unfortunately the guy's disappeared off the face of the earth along with his site so there's nothing we can help you with here :(

well wouldn't it be ok to just take the style and update it? If nobody is around anymore associated with it. Wouldn't it work to upload the images. Rename a similar style for 3.03 that I got from somewhere else? Would that work out right?

Sorry you've lost me. The style would need to be completely recoded if it's for a version of vBulletin2.

Just curious but now those styles can be freely exchanged right? Unless the author comes to claim it, but he seems to have dissappeared.

No the work is copyrighted, so anyone distributing them, exchanging them or anything like that is breaking the law :)

Just making sure because I have seen alot of exchange of the work, but nothing is being done to stop it becaue as you said the only author(s) that can claim damage and do anything about this as dissappeared from the face of the earth.

Weren't these skins advertised as being upgraded upon the release of VB3 Gold? If so, at what point is the original creator in breach of contract?

The skins were never upgraded AFAIK and only one skin for vB3 existed which was the dungeon skin :)

and I for one would be more than willing to give all the graphics that came with it, to anyone who wanted them in exchange for making it work with 3.03!! That is what you get when you sell something and then just leave your customers flat with a product that will not work. Having bought ALL of them I can surely speak for the feeling of having been left in the dirt after hours and hours of customizing my top part of each and ever forum to fit its subject and then finding out that they vanished. It's like buying a maytag and having no maytag man to be found on the planet... all Im suggesting is that we take it to a local mechanic and have it overhauled.. lol.. they were too great of skins to be lost for good.

I have that skin as well, in fact I am using the background that was in the skin on my current forums background.

Corey never said the skins would be updated to work with vB3. He also disappeared off the skin long before any final version of vB3 was introduced.

He created the skins for a vB 2.3.x product, which is what they were created for, so he hasn't left you high and dry, it's a harsh truth but you got what you paid for. :)
