Inside the Pixel - d2alio - still around?
I just checked out d2alio's website, www.insidethepixel.com and they don't seem to have done any work this year.. ? Anyone know what is going on with them? Are they still around?
Thanks! |
Daemon is apparently still around :)
|
Yeah, there still around, I get emails from inside the pixel on occasion.
|
Xelation from what i understand is no longer around, while Daemon is
|
Does anyone know if they are still turning stuff out? (New Designs)
Wow.. Can't anyone stick together as a team? lol I would love to see a really reliable and highly customized "company" cement and stick around. Lord knows there is money in it.. Did Dameon do the latest version of www.aliensoup.com ? I don't see it listed or any of their logo info.. |
He agreed to do a custom design for my website, Full Throttle. And when Matt aka Xelation went AWOL Dameon had to turn away his all his clients except me at the time. He is a big time NASCAR fan like myself and he wanted to do this design. Problem was it took longer that I except plus trying to find a new coder. So after many months, I had to let him go as my website design. He is a good guy and I just think with Xelation gone, trying to get a new job and dealing with his website and my website design he had too much on his plate.
As far as I know Dameon didn't do AlienSoup lastest design, I read somewhere on their site that someone inhouse did the design. |
Well really I think you're best sending an email to him via the form if you want to contact him :)
|
The AlienSoup design was done by multiple people. Dameon and John Schwegel did the graphics and I coded it.
If you want to contact him try him at; dameonw@insidethepixel.com |

FYI... He doesn't return email. At least he has yet to return mine. I purchased the geltech style and was promised there would be a free 3.x upgrade to it. There hasn't been. |
I wouldn't trust or go near InsideThePixel Dameon is just another like Corey. Not taking on too many project just the fact of not delivering them.
|
Great... Wouldn't it be nice to have someone with talent and business sense. Seems to be a pipe-dream!

Leppard. The GelTech skin was discontinued quite a while back, including support for it. |
Do you read?
I believe Sam FT just got through saying how his project was not delivered. I bought the Geltech skin. Why wasn't I notified it was discontinued? |

Sam FT said that he had to let him go because Dameon had no coder, he then tells us that Dameon is a good guy and had too much on his plate. Now without warrant 4 months later he's blasting him again. I don't know why you wasn't notified. But seeing as there's been no official site for ITP for some months now I would have thought that it was pretty obvious that the skin was discontinued, but that's just me. |

Were you ever on the ITP support forums? Did you ever see all the ignored support questions? Did you ever see when they just started deleting support questions without answering them? It was a business that never should have opened and failed to deliver on every aspect of what a reputable business is expected to. They/he screwed up, plain and simple. Don't insult those that were burned first-hand who are taking the time to share their experiences with the rest of the community. Now, since this Geltech skin is discontinued and was a commercial product, what is holding anyone back from releasing it here for free? ~Regs. |

Distrubting it would be illegal |
And for how long would it be protected under copyright?
I'm under the assumption that ITP broke their "contract" with myself by not providing the VB3 version they stated would be made available when VB3 went gold, a key selling point they made when peddaling the style. It's a worthy discussion I think. For example, say I 'released' the Geltech style that worked with VB3 for free. If ITP claimed copyright infringement and then attempted to proceed with legal action, would I have a counter-claim/case for 'breach of contract'? What would take precedence? Cheers, ~Regs. |

Heres what i know Jelsoft discontinued vBulletin 1.0, just because its discontinued does not me it can be freely distrubuted, as it would still require a license, while jelsoft the company is intact the same is true for ITP's IP. Which is their skin, if you did not purchase a license to use it you cannot use it now nor will you ever be able to. |
Anyone else care to have a healthy discussion on this?
I'm always interested in hearing other's opinions and responses to hypothetical issues. Cheers, ~Regs. |
He is still around, i talked to him on AIM 2 days ago, he said insidethepixel is soon to be updated... he's been doing some VB designs
|
Am I still around?
Somewhat. My time is very limited with full time work, so taking on clients isn't really a priority. Do I still do work? Yes. I do. HOWEVER, it is EXTREMELY limited. Sam was correct in saying that his project took longer than expected. However, at the time I was in fact without a coder and getting things to work was nearly impossible with time constraints. Since then I have completed a few more projects and will be launching another (my own) shortly. Latest launches include: http://www.texasatvs.com/forums/ http://www.pbjunkie.com Both taken a few months after my failed project with Full Throttle. My time is really limited on designs, so, unless you're willing to wait possibly 1-3 months for your project and you're willing to shell out a large amount of cash (yes, I AM NOT CHEAP in case you're wondering because I do consider myself ONE of the best vBulletin designers around), I wouldn't consider going with my services. That's not to say that we're overly expensive, because we deliver on our designs and customization. But if you're under the $1,000 market, you'd probably better look elsewhere ;) |
as a matter of fact, the ONLY reason I even saw this post was because it was forwarded to me by Blindchild (thanks bud). So, I have a lot of people that watch out for me lol because THAT is how limited my time is. Currently, I don't have any clients as I just finished the last bunch for the time being and they should be launching their sites shortly.
I probably wouldn't expect InsideThePixel to launch in full any time soon as I just intend to do one project at a time and not overmarket. I simply don't have the time for mass market. But, at the same time, you'd get better results since you would be one of TWO clienst (at most at one time) being worked on. Right now, I'm just working on my own other non-design project. It's a bit of secret, but it's gaming related for those that know me ;) |
Ok well I think this thread has served it's purpose now. As you can see d2alio is still around and if you have any complaints please forward to them him privately now :)
