I am currently running a copy of 1.1.2 and am going to upgrade to 1.1.5 while we await the new release. What do I need to do to upgrade exactly ? Upload the ,php files and run the upgrade thingy ? I have installed the Email Notification Hack (v0.1) and the Private Messaging Hack (v0.9.3) - will this affect the upgrade in any way ? And what do I do about readding the two hacks when I do upgrade ? Is there a new version of the PM hack out and is there any difficulties in upgrading to that ?

yes, your hacks will be deleted but it will not affect your upgrade,
After youl upgrade you can install them again (there is a new version for PM hack, Use the search engine)

OK, thanks. So I download the new release, run the upgrade script and, once all is running with this, I need to download the new version of PM and install it too ? I presume it comes with it's own upgrade script, but i'll have a look. I'll probably be back with more silly questions soon :D

I hope you didn't copy over all files yet.. There is a much easier way.

I am having SERIOUS problems getting the new PM hack to work though :( I am really pulling my hair out - cannot get it to work with 1.1.5 at all - the code seems to have changed a lot :( If anyone has got this to work on 1.1.5 and would care to share the edited files with me i'll be eternally grateful as I wished i'd not started this right now :(

Right - i've made the changes to the files as per new install instructions...

Now i'm trying to run the makeprivtables.php file as instructed, but get this error:

Right - i've reverted to 1.1.2 :) And bollox to upgrading again until v2 comes out! will v2 be able to understand my old version of the PM hack though ?

I am sorry. I read too quickly and didn't see that you were on 1.1.2. There are major changes between that version and 1.1.4 and a lot of the database queries were redone.

Yes Ed, and therein lies the problem - how do I upgrade to v1.2.5 ? The tables need changing - i'm no expert on this and haven't a clue what i'm doing - do I need to drop the two old PM tables from the old system and start again ?

The other problem is that the instructions are for v1.1.4 of vB - NOT v1.1.5... there are a load of differences in the code, so it's not a simple copy and replace job as per the instructions... I did my best at making the changes as I think they should be, but I cannot be sure - and i'm still stuck on the first problem right now...

If you're using 1.2.0, there's nothing to upgrade. 1.2.5 was just an instruction change. We'll see if I can put any thing out for 1.1.5

Sorry, missed that you said you were using 0.9x. You have to run the upgrade.php file for that.
