Store Beta 4 Information
 

Hey, how's it going everyone?
As you know I'm the developer of the store hack over at VB.nl

Beta 4 has come a long way and will soon be ready to be released. This version will include the latest API. I hope the API is simple so that anyone that knows PHP can code an action. It's also the 1st version that will be released here.

It has all your basic actions
- Donate (w/ reason)
- Change Username (!! DESTRUCTIVE !!)
- Change user title
- Change user title color (Can be adapted for username color)
- Host image signature (With limits)
- Buy access to a user group (secondary)
- Change other member?s title

- History
- Top 5/20 points holder
- Ability to exclude a user group from the top x lists
- Discount per user group
- Quick links on navbar
- 100% templated and phrased
- Users can put a price on attachments
- Admins can limit the price (0 to disable) on attachments

I've attached screen shots of the most important features. If you want an ETA, I'll say 2 days..

What kind of bugs are to be expected in beta 4 ?

- Missing templates (there's soo many I'm sure I'll forget some)
- Missing Phrases (Hell)
- Spelling mistakes (Not many but some)
- Missing feature (You never know)

SQL errors may happen but I'm sure (89%) none will.

As a closing word, I'd like to say I would appreciate any help (Coding actions, making phrase [I HATE PHRASES], helping out with the templates...)

Oh did I mention the Donate has the WYSIWYG editor ? ;)

If I am right, you said your Store beta 3.1 would be that last beta.
now it's beta 4.

Yes, I thought RC3 was the last RC of VB...
I can't really go final until VB goes final, this hack touches a lot of things...

Yes, people, you are getting at least 2 store hacks and they will both be out soon, and I doubt that our two won't be the only ones, either. ;)

But the question is whos will be the best one :)

Just as in the case of the Shoutbox 1.03d and BVShoutbox 1.0, it will all come down to personal preference. ;)

LOL @ Yoshy, thats true! Heres an idea for you both, option to buy styles to use on the board, or how about a freebie option of letting users customise the store's layout/colours or something like that?

I echo that sentiment - buying a pass for a style would be quite nice :)

so there's going to be at least 5 store hacks....... (vb petz will include store too )

I actually thought about it a while ago but haven't tried implementing it yet. I'm not sure how much hacking would be required for it. It probably wouldn't be that hard, though.

Doinig it it easy - doing it the right way is hard. The problems comes when you change the style like do something and change the style id. Delete the style, re-import it - all your members paied for nothing... Ban one, does he keep the style. When you buy a style can it still be changed in forums where you explicitly set an other one ?

Things like that make it hard to do a good job.. but else - it's a 3 line job

And if you use the idea i get 10% profit :) 10% of nothing :p
