Introducing - The uTT Store Hack! (Now Accepting Alpha/Beta Testers!)

1 Attachment(s)
*Ahem* So, since Faranth talked me into making a store hack - here's what we have done with it so far! We started the project on February 9th and we have made a lot of progress on this vB3 store hack. Here's a nice feature list. :)

Update: We are now accepting alpha/beta testers! PM me at vBulletin.com (squall14716) [preferred] or here at vBulletin.org if you want to help us test this hack.

uTT Points System: Feature List
  • Fully configurable database table/field for integrating with other systems that uses points.
  • Master On/Off Switch
  • Global Points Per Thread Setting
  • Global Points Per Reply Setting
  • Global Points Per Thread View Setting
  • Points Per Good Reputation
  • Points Per Bad Reputation
  • Points Per Referral
  • Points Per Shout Setting (if Squall's Shoutbox Hack 1.02 or above is installed.)
  • Round to x Decimal Places (for a cash/change system)
  • Modify Points in the User Manager
  • Per-Forum Points Per Thread Setting (multiplied by the global setting to get the final value)
  • Per-Forum Points Per Reply Setting (multiplied by the global setting to get the final value)
  • Per-Forum Points Per Thread View Setting (multiplied by the global setting to get the final value)

uTT Store Hack 0.92 Alpha: Feature List
  • Currently 18 actions are available - Donate, Change Custom Title, Change Other User's Custom Title, Change Username, Glowing Username, Colored Username, Bold Username, Italicized Username, Admin Donate, Bank, Secondary Usergroup, Sticky Thread, Thief!, Buy Forum Password, Buy Forum Access, Deny Forum Access, Give Forum Access, Arcade Pass (If Arcade Pass Hack v3 is installed.)
  • Quantity System
  • Quantity Refill (Set a number of seconds between refills and quantity is automatically refilled when accessing the main store script.)
  • Richest x Users
  • Top x Most Sold Actions
  • Purchase History
  • Senoir Discount (based on age - if they are older than x years, they get a discount (also setable))
  • Loyal Member Discount (based on days registered - if they have been registered for x days, they get a discount (also setable))
  • Usergroup Discount (give your staff a price cut!)
  • Shortname (only setable while in debug mode - can be used in links (also used in some functions))
  • Setable Action Description
  • Setable Display Order
  • Setable Cost
  • Setable Quantity and Quantity Refill (when/if quantities are refilled)
  • Setable Allowed Usergroups Via Checkboxes (usergroups that are not allowed do not see the action at all and cannot access it)
  • Setable Denied Usergroups Via Checkboxes (users that are a member of this usergroup cannot use the action)
  • Setable Image Location (if not location is specified, no image is shown)
  • Show In Store (if it is set to no, you will not see the action in the store, but can still access it via direct link)
  • Setable Active Status (if it isn't active, it goes *poof* from the store and is not accessable until it is set active again)
  • Update Display Order, Cost, Tax, Sold, Quantity Refill, and Quantity en masse.
  • You can duplicate the "Secondary Usergroup" action and define which usergroups are joinable for each action by duplicating the action file and setting the joinable groups at the top (so you can allow different usergroups to be joined for different prices)
  • Secondary Usergroup is an extremely powerful action - you can give people access to forums, higher PM quotas, the ability to see invisible users, access to free custom title changing, etc.
  • Action Specific Variables System - specific variblables set per action. You can add and edit these variables in debug mode - or you can just change the value while editing an action as if it were any other variable.
  • Copy an action (useful for actions like secondary usergroup and those dealing with forums if you want each forum/usergroup to have a different cost/quantity/etc)
  • Very few queries! (On the main page, there are 6 queries - 5 from vB3 and 1 from the store - and that's just for the richest users!)

Total size of all PHP files: 235,340 bytes.

And some screenies for you to drool over. :)

Nice going Link and Faranth :)

dirtymerc 02-17-2004 02:49 AM

I cannot wait!

n00belit3 02-17-2004 04:46 AM

Any clue on when youll be releasing this?

Link14716 02-17-2004 04:58 AM

Well, considering we have gotten this far in only a week, I can say that it'll be at a public beta test stage very soon.

Dean C 02-17-2004 08:43 AM

This looks fantastic. I hope you'll provide an import facility from Lesane's store hack as for me that'd be a must. I originally was going to code my own to give me that flexibility but this covers pretty much everything that I wanted. I may released a few addons when I write my own too.

Only thing I don't like is the template structure of the main store interface ;) Looks really monotonous and having it at 100% for the store actions with so little text content looks bare.

assassingod 02-17-2004 08:45 AM

What does uTT stand for? Looks nice btw.

Dean if you would like to give me some pointers feel free, but the templates are not totaly final yet :) (i still have yet to add, what link calls, drop down goodness. ;))

assassingod 02-17-2004 01:18 PM

Hmm, don't see the point in that - but ok.

And I agree with Dean, the main store page looks odd, too crowded IMo

He added the history, i think we will either move it to another page or only show it to admins as the general users dont need to see that.

Hehe, I got it split into rows now, and without the help of Faranth no less. I am good. :)

Here are two screens - note that the amount of actions per row and the displaying of images are both admin options.

ShutDown23 02-29-2004 05:22 AM

/me really wants this feature-full store

Dean C 02-29-2004 09:03 AM

Link - looks good but still looks plain to me. Also remember a lot of people have fixed width of 750 so that's going to be very cramped :)

I'm alpha testing this on a board with a fixed width of 750 and it looks fine.. ;)

MindTrix 02-29-2004 09:56 AM

Why keep the title a secret, seems odd 2 me but bleh im sure you have a reason :) So far it seems like you just have the normal options most store hacks have, are you going to have some actions no one else actually has? Also you say you been working on it for a week but i could of swarn i seen you mention it on here a couple of times weeks ago :p Oh well maybe im mistaken, Hope this all goes great and goodluck ;)

Well, now it's been like 3 weeks, but yeah, I started working on it February 9th. I did make mentions that I would make a store hack if someone else did the templates though. :p

And Mist: the amount of actions per row is configurable. You can set it to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5000, etc. ;)

MindTrix 02-29-2004 02:04 PM

Yeah i didnt mean no dis-respect from it, i wish you all the best :)

Ah nice idea ;)

Link14716 03-08-2004 10:39 PM

This is just a *bump* to say that we need testers! Read the first post to find out how to contact me - you could also contact Zachery, but he won't be around for a few more days, according to an AIM conversation we had a few weeks ago.

Dean C 03-09-2004 06:10 AM

I had an idea last night which is something I think you might like to implement. Instead of offering the linear ability to purchase x of something. Why not have the ability to buy a pass for unlimited of something. For example a user may want to pay 1000 points and then after that be able to change their avatar an unlimited amount of times for example :)

Link14716 03-09-2004 08:06 PM

Secondary Usergroup could handle that for all items, although a pass to buy an unlimited of one item is good idea. :)

Cyricx 03-10-2004 07:49 AM

And I think you need to check your math, LOL

I was just glancing at the SS's and was going like "HUH??"

For example, one action costs base, $500 and there's a tax of 7%, and the total cost would be $262.50. It should be $535.00 ... O_o

Cyricx

Dean C 03-10-2004 02:23 PM

Will you also make the fieldname in the user table a variable so people using Lesane's store hack for vB2 can use this :)

SkyCatcher 03-10-2004 08:10 PM

I wrote you a PM - nothing happened. I want in - I've got about 10 hours of freetime on my hands tomorrow and nothing to do :o

I want your forum stats members posts threads and average posts per day over the last 30 days :)

Link14716 03-12-2004 07:32 PM

I posted a thread with all the PMs I have recieved (except a few recent ones) at the dev board, Zak. ;)

Cyricx - That's also with a usergroup discount of 50%. ;)

Dean - I did that at the very begining. The table and the fieldname are both variables. :)

Alzeimer 03-13-2004 09:54 AM
