User Intergration with Mambo
<a href="http://www.mamboportal.com/" target="_blank">http://www.mamboportal.com/</a>
This seems to be an awesome CMS out of the box. I think it has a lot of features that are already built in that a lot of hackers try to put in. I would love to see if anyone has an idea about the user intergration. I am currently looking at just redirecting the user quieries...but not a 100% about them. |
Anyone interested?
|
Don't really see any features in it that are not already in VbPortal which works seemlessly with VB
|
Mambo is much more feature rich than VBportal.
I will add to this and say I would be willing to pay for a user integration to share the user table for vbulletin & mambo.. Matt |
ANyone... anyone... ???
This can't be that hard can it... ? I'd be willing to pay for integration... matt |
I believe Mamboportal is a resource site (hacks, add-on modules, etc.) for MomboServer CMS. You could check there for some info on integration.
|
I would love to see this too if possible.
|
There is a thread in the forums at mamboserver.com about vB integration. Someone who has several vB sites said he was working on a program.

Is there any news on this? I would definitely use it. |
I'm still looking too and would be willing to pay for this integration. I've been all over the boards everywhere.. Seems like someone would jump up for this as I have seen several people willing to pay for it.

Maybe we could all chip in and buy a license for them so that they can integrate it? |

... how neat! Mambo is great (not as great as typo3, but soooooooo much easier).

Typo3 is great too, but it take much longer to actually use to its full extent. It is just too big for my next project. |
Top, so that more people see this.
|
I'm willing to pay for a hack that intergrates the two DBs together. Drop me a line.
This should be pretty easy. The Mambo user DB is pretty small (only a handful of fields. The vBulletin DB would be the point of record. |
Yes but do you only want to merge the DBs together or also integrate Mambo into vB (or vice versa)? The first can be done easily; the second I dunno.

Well, conceptually that's how it would work, I think. :) |
Somebody is working on this... not sure if it's the same somebody already mentioned earlier.

only problem with mambovb is that, lol i wanna start it now, and its a beta, its not reccomended for well, you knwo real live bam :speechless:
|
mambovb is in the works, but I would prefer integration that works with existing mambo sites. Would it be hard for a hack like this to take members from one and make it work for the other (mambo<->vb) as a single login? TIA
|
What happened to this project? The site is down, but I would love to use this hack.
|
same here - also would love to see how this hack performs :)
|
is this project dead?
|
I hope not - I'd really love to get my mambo site integrated with vB
|
Single user login would be nice: A bot to feed all your mambo stories automatically into your vb forums would be nicer.
|
I'm another willing to pay towards this...definitely needed here.
|
Any updates on this... I tried to go to the url above ( http://forum.mamboserver.com/viewtop...?p=61189#61189 ) but it doesn't seem to be active any more.... also looking for this

Since it seems nothing has been heard of the mambovb project lately I've released a temporary solution for a Mambo-vB integration. It is a script that can be run as a cron job which merges the users of Mambo and vB. It has been tested with 2.2.x and 2.3.x but will probably not work with vB3.
I have however recently been able to get a current vBulletin license and might be able to update this for vB3 as well. Not sure how much differences there are though. The script is called vbtomambo and can be downloaded from my site: http://mambo.theyard.org I've done another forum integration for Mambo as well, and could be able to do a more complete integration, with seamless user integration and the possibility to comment articles directly into vb. But since I don't use vB myself the only reason to do this would be because it would be a good thing for the Mambo community (and vB as well obviously) unless someone could donate some money to get this finished. I have a donation pool up on my site, but except for the donation of a license I haven't received anything yet, and as I have to pay my rent paying work takes precedence. Even if you don't feel you have anything to donate, I'd like to hear from people who might be interested in an integration. Knowing that people would use it would certainly help to get me going as well. Kind regards, Olle Johansson |
