This is the new and improved version. Way more features, same basic "user joins clan, shows up in clanlist".

INSTRUCTIONS/ABOUT:
Users go to clan information page and select the clan they want to join by pressing the join button next to it. They fill out a form, and a request gets sent to the clan leader, these can be seen in the clan leader control panel (screenshot availible). Leaders accept or decline request. Either way, an email is sent to the member telling them what happened. Users is then added or not added to the clan. Clan leaders can change clan name, information, logo, and clan site information. They can also add clan ranking information, such as "leader", "co-leader", "captain", whatever, and list them in whatever order they wish.

OTHER:
This is v2.0. I tested this with hobbes and it worked fine on a clean install of 2.2.6. I tested my first install on a 2.3.3 and both worked fine. Clan is not shown in your postbit, but i gave link information for clan leader control panel in clan list. I will update this hack often, such as version 2.1 or 2.2, and eventually other features will be added and postbit stuff will be added to. I set this as a finally release because installs went flawlessely on both boards, but there still may be a few minutes issues. If you get any, please post them and i will do my best to help. Make sure you put in an order value. The order determines what order the peopel are displayed in on the showclans page. If you don't care, just put a one in. Users default to "member" which is automatically shown last. I'll put in an error page for that.

how do u add people to the clan

The users need to request to enter a clan. using the request form by pressing the join button in the showclans.php page. When i update, which i will tomorrow after i get back from school, v2.1 will have an admin option to add or remove users from clans. Until tomorrow, you'll have to send a request, or go into phpmyadmin and change the clan(clanid) column to 1

Is there a way to make the "clan logo" show up in all the users Sig???

Just put in the img link is probably the easiest. I'll see what i can do about that though.

heh. As soon as i figure out how to run while functions in the postbit (admin/functions.php), there'll be a dropdown in the postbit that lists all the clans the user is in, and then i'll be able to do the sig thing, but i'll get the above fixed by tomorrow, 9:00 pm eastern. Instead of putting in every single option i could think of, i'll just constantly update this thing, listing fixes on the way. If you guys want anything to be added, just tell me. I'll list bug fixes at the top of the readme, and what you do to fix them, so you dont' miss fixes when you update. Thank you logik for pointing these out and i'll get them fixed asap.

Another Error:
User doesn't have to be logged in to join a clan, better fix that too, lol.

By the way, i looked at your site, all of the users are listed as "member". To dchange that, go to the clan leader cp, and go to userlist, and click "rank". That'll change it to whatever you want. I gotta make an instruction manual.

Or you can wait a month for my Clan Tools RC1 hack which is by far more complex and has been in beta for 2 months give or take, when ever vB3 Beta 3 came out.

Complex isn't a good thing for the users, just btw.
You don't have to install my hack, you can wait for his. Whatever you think is better. I don't know what his has on it, though.

How about a way to customise the join application. The current questions don't apply, I don't use this for online gaming clans, I use it for my play-by-post RPG. Also I could really use the ability for the auto creation of a clan forum when a clan is created with the clan leader as a moderator.

well, i actually could make an upgrade script, shouldn't be too hard. Just need to go through and add some columns. I'll get on that, but, make sure you do not add any clans until you upgrade, might screw it up. I'll go ahead and make that tonight, have it out tomorrow. =)

Ah my friend, that is excellent news. Thank you very much. I've been playing around with vB3, the usergroup functionality doesn't match up to this hack.

Hey mate, can you briefly explain how I can achieve the same as this in vB3 with public usergroups? I'm not sure how the whole thing works, and am not sure how I can achieve the same goals as your hack.

I haven't used vb3 yet, so i'm not sure how to use public usergroups or anything, but i heard that this is very similar, which is why i added all of this extra crap.

If anyone has anything they still want me to do (i haven't done anything in a while) lemme know and i'll set it up.

I was as much of a vB3 sceptic as anyone. I planned to stay on vB2 until all the hacks I needed were converted. I didn't, and I don't regret it at all!
