vB3 Age in profile
vB3 Age in profile
Version 1.0 (By Boofo) What does this hack do? It adds the member's age to their profile, right under their birthday, in the "Additional Information" box. If they do not enter their birthday or do not enter a year for their birthday, the age will not show up. It will also follow the setting for the "Enable User Age" option in the "Thread Display Options (showthread)" settings in the Admin CP. Version 1.0 --Initial release Installation overview: Files to edit: (1) --member.php Templates to edit: (1) --memberinfo If you find this hack useful,. please click the install button. ;) |
Hmmm...I'm not getting anything. I've uploaded the modified member.php as well as the MEMBERINFO template and nothing is showing up in anybody's profile.
Do you have the "Enable User Age" option in the "Thread Display Options (showthread)" settings in the Admin CP turned on? ;)
This is a mini hack, actually ;)
It's a Profile Enhancement hack. Call it what you like but it is where it is supposed to be. ;)

Now aren't you glad you installed this hack? You might not have found that setting if you hadn't. ;) You're very welcome, sir. ;)
good job Boofo, I'll install this one ;)

Thank you, sir. I hope you enjoy it. ;)
Sweet. Now to get it working in the memberlist too. :D
It's already there. Just turn it on in the Admin CP settings.
Don't forget to click install. ;) |

Thanks for this - installed in under a minute.
Thank you, sir. I have some more surprises in store. ;)
Installed and working, I can translate to spanish if you wish
Hrm. I have installed it and I'm not seeing the field. I've also added the enabled the field in the Threaded user display. Do I need to make another profile field in order for this to work?
You need to make sure that ytou have the Age in showthread turned on in the Admin CP. It is under Enable User Age in the Thread Display Options (showthread) in your vBulletin settings. ;)
Yep, I had that checked to yes.
Okay, weird. It shows up in the actual profile in the thread - is that the ONLY place it's supposed to show up or is it supposed to show in the actual profile when you click to view a members profile? |
Yes, just like in the screenshot in the first post. ;)
Okay, I think I was just confused because my board doesn't look similar to yours. I'm a newbie to all this, can you tell :p
Thanks, it's a great hack and working perfectly! |
Thank you. ;)
I love your vB message that says you're not open yet. ;) And your testing skin looks good, too (except the header needs to be centered on that one). ;) |

Hmm I'm not sure there's anything I could miss heh. I'll take another look.
EDIT: Have done it 3 times, still shows nothing on the profile. |
I think you're missing some queries Boofo. ;)

Your board is 3.0.0 right? However, can you find enableage in install/vbulletin-settings.xml, I couldn't :)
Oh never mind then, you are right Boofo, I've just checked my old version board and I found it, in vb 3.0.0 :)
In 3.0.3 you will need to run some extra queries for enable option though ;) |

There is no $vboptions['enableage'] in 3.0.3, isn't it?

Darn it. :(

yeah I'm having the same problem -- it works in the threads -- just doesn't show up in the member profile -- I'm also using 3.0.3
It does work in postbit yes, what do you mean by the name of the age option Boofo?
I'm new to this -- what is postbit -- I just staeted messing around with this yesterday
It's the template that shows the messages left by users, i.e. what you are reading now.
oh ok -- how can I get the Age to appear in the profile tho -- I'm using 3.0.3 and I don't see anything there -- just the Birthday -- any idea?
I'm just looking thru the manual and all and I see that $post is used in the hack, well as far as my thinking goes, and again I'm a newbie to this, but when you view the user's profile, there is no $post -- correct???
