Bittorent
 

Well, this may sound kind of stupid, but if anyone could make like a bit torrent intergration for vb3, that would be cool, like a system.

Just make it so bit torrent files (.torrent) can be attached. I can't really imagine what else you would want to do, unless you really want to get advanced? That would be an enromous waste of time though.

To see what I am talking about attaching the torrent files go to http://www.sharingthegroove.org (LEGAL live music trading site) and look at the bit torrent forums. They have torrent software on the server, and then they just attach the actual torrent files.

And none of this requires any hacking at all.

like not intergrate, but basically, do u guys see those sites that have bittorent listings, I mean could we make something like that, I DONT EVEN REALLY WANT THIS, I am just trying to make suggestions...:(, something that would be different, jesus if your gonna bite my head off, then close the damn thread...-_-

@Dapro: I think you can commit a dedicated forum/thread for this and allow ".torrent" extensions to achieve your goal. You can then set your permissions for post/dl attachments in that forum. I think it will work?

No I know what he is talking about, a php script that will pull recent files from a torrent server and display them. There are such scripts on the net.

i thought he just didn't realise you could make add extentions to the attachment management scripting of vB but seems Brad maybe right :)

i've seen some awesome ones about, like really awesome, the best is on a vbulletin site completely powered by vB (anyway i won't talk to much as it's not fair and i can't publish the details without the owners permission)

the version i'm aware off shows all files in the torrent, seeds and peers with ip addy's on the thread in a drop down table cells, it also has it's own page which basically acts like a list with the right numbers in the right places and even has catergories to make sorting easier, it's an awesome system.

No, I am not selling my code. That was done by someone else for torrenttrader. It seems the coder was well inspired from desitorrents.com

Well, whoever coded it, did a very good job with it, and I hope he gets a return for his hard work. I just meant to say it looks quiet similar to what we've done on DT.
