v b b always being converted

Whenever I type v b b (without the spaces) in a post or my profile it is magically being converted to vB.
That's a real PITA as the path on our server is / v b b (without the spaces) and thus I can never type the correct URL :ermm:

The reason for this happening is because many people say 'vbb' rather than 'vb' (which is the correct term for vBulletin)

NTLDR 01-24-2004 07:27 PM

Its the same on vB.com, I can't find the thread on there that gave the exact reason why though.

Andreas 01-24-2004 07:32 PM

Well I don't care for normal text, but for URLs you should avoid this conversion as it may make them invalid :(

Zachery 01-24-2004 08:07 PM

because vBB is a whole nother bulletin board ;D

:)

TheAnt 01-24-2004 08:52 PM

Zachery 01-24-2004 09:00 PM

Yeah so what he's asking is to stop replacing the text in URLs :p

Anyways, I don't really think it should be a replacement - might confuse some newcomers here, etc.

And most likely to prevent headaches amongst the people that say vB :)
