Feeta vB Chat v1.0 (phpmychat mod) (vb 2 version)
 

i looked through my hard drive earlier and i found this i made it a few months ago im pretty certain it works same one for vbulletin 3 but for vbulletin 2

Features:

Full Admin control panel support

fits in nicely to the board

32 languages

all default emotions

users with spaces in their names can chat

all files converted to .php files because some had problems with .php3

ahh i dont use vbulletin 2 anymore but it looks like this http://www.pointanime.com/forum/chat.php just this version is alot more stable

and you set the admin user and pass how?

oh sorry ill post a tutorial later but heres a rough idea of how

first go into phpmyadmin

click on user in your database go to browse then click on your name and in the box perms type admin and save

how to call the chat to include the forum header and footer (an example link please?)

if you rename chat to room and go to link removed :) it should show with headers

when you write the instructions, make it clear that chat.php needs to be in the forum root. :)

There is also a problem with 2 part names... yes, it accepts them, but you can't PM them, drops off the second part of the name, pm doesn't go thru, but appears it does.

yeah it wasnt really coded for spaces in name we cheated lol :p

Users with longer screen names, possibly only 2 part names or a combo, can not edit their profiles.

that is fixable :p just we never planned on people with spaces in their name

Noticed a few things:

- Admin controls, images for LAST and FIRST page don't show, also i can't get to the NEXT and PREV page, there are no buttons :/

- When in the chat room clicking a smilie will scrool to the bottom of the page, and not insert the simile

- When clicking profile it does not show the profile for the user, "/PROFILE" pops up in the text area, then nothing

the admin panel is wierd vbulletin seems to take away the css

in the chat room the smilies are not clickable yet

to see someones profile click their icon or type /whois (theirname)

sorry about the profile, had my firewall and ad block on so it wouldn't open that its ok now...

on the main chat shows how many users are online in the chat, can we grab that and place this into the forum? do you know how?

colors are ugly, whats the template to change those? and how can we use the colors the board uses??

also would like to mod some more options if you can direct me in the way

- limiting the language to english only and getting rid of the flags?

and

- changing the cleaning to once an hour or whenever the user count reaches 0, i don't like the whole 7 days later idea

eh thats easy to delete all the flags just delete all the languages in the localization folder and to change the wipe time just open up config/config.lib.php

find

define("C_MSG_DEL", '12');

and change the number 12 to what ever you want

Can you tell me what 12 stands for? and have you gotten the code to insert how many users are in the chat on a different page?

12 is the hours so if you change it to 0 it forgets as soon as you exit the chat

Hmmm...few more, i thought these were working but i guess not....

When you click on the ? Users in the chat room, pulls up the new window and will say no users, but i really do have users in there? :-/

Second, when i type in /help or /? the help screen pops up but i get a 404, and the file is there :-/

about the spaces, whats the fix to allow the member to edit his profile and to send PM's?

theres never been a spaces problem apart from you cant kick ppl with spaces in their name and they cant update their profile but thats about it

I get the impression that you didn't write this hack? I know of two issues you have said were "bugs" that you were working hard on, that were quite obvious and easy to fix. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but....

i havent worked on nothin in about 6 months only 1 time lol and i think i didnt make it when it says (phpmychat mod) in the title you really thought i made the whole thing?

I am getting the following error after loging in. Does anyone know how I could correct this?
