and i have a question... after i installed it it came out like this..

it seems like the vbphrases arent showing up...? if theres a page i need to edit/edited wrong can you please direct me to it? or please tell me what i should do to fix it

I thought I had fixed that... the phrases should have been updated in step 6.

Well, to fix it in your case, just go into the phrase manager, click 'edit' on a phrase and save it without changing anything. I'll work on fixing the installer.

Ok ran the installer again and sorted things out. I guess i should have looked when you said you fixed it all, but you could have mentioned that it needed to be ran to fix the errors ;)

Number of Forum Home Shouts?
Enter the number of shouts to be displayed on forumhome if the option is enabled

In the admin CP needs to be changed because you have it set as a Yes / No option when people need to be able to input the ammount of shouts they wish displayed

It is both. If you set it to no, that setting doesn't matter, if it is set to yes, then that setting controls how many is displayed on forumhome.

And if you looked at the post I had quoted, it said to edit a phrase and then save it. That would have updated the phrase cache and fixed everything.;)

If you select yes to for limiting the amount of shouts on the forum home, The option underneath should allow you too specify how many you want shown, according to the descritions. But it does not, it gives you a YES/NO option which is wrong:p

I'll probably make that after I squash all the bugs and release 1.0 Final. I can confirm a bug when a user in coventry shouts and someone who does not have permission to view shouts by coventry users sees the shout before and after it, the backgrounds are the same.

Looks great, although i only have one question. On forumhome, when it says lastest shout by..... every username is replace by a 0

this is after i have updated all counters and run the doupdate in shoutbox.php

any ideas anyone?

EDIT: not to worry, it's only the old shouts that are showing up like this, so nevermind.

lol, i thought i had, but i'm almost ashamed to admit this, i forgot to remove the ? off of the end or i must have added an extra char. I ran it again just now and it's worked

I give up on this hack because the mysql tableprefix must be put in the sqls before we can use it. :(

RC1 comes with an installer that inserts and creates everything with the prefix.

i tried to add the shoutbox on another page... the phrases dont show up and the scroll-section where the shouts should be dont show up
if it doesnt take a lot of your time could you possibly tell me how i could fix it

I get a 404 error on the above URL.

Just make sure you make all appropriate changes that are supposed to be made to index.php to the other page and it should work.

i edited it just like i edited the index.php page and now its fine except the same messages repeat themselves alot of time... theres about 9 messages and they repeat untill theres 50...?

Ok, I updated the zip with a new shoutbox.php. Re-download the zip and use the new shoutbox.php. That should get rid of the error.

I ran the new query you posted in the first post of this thread but none of the shouts are showing up on the forumhome.

Make sure you edit the settings and turn on "Show Latest Shouts on Forum Home?" and set "Number of Forum Home Shouts?" to a non-zero positive number.
