Have Any Hacks Been Ported?
 

Obviously, no one's allowed to develop any hacks for vB3 yet, but have any ports been done (especially for popular hacks like store and arcade)?

yeah, some have been ported over, but the release isn't allowed before RC1 :)

I heard that the store will cost $20 to download?

Don't know where you heard that but it's not true.

I've ported a few hacks, including Scott MacVicars 'Change Username via UserCP' and 'Signature Editor' to template modifications:)

if the store costs big whoop (assuming its lesanes) never liked it and everyone is doing a "store" type hack this time around, along with a portal a cms and everythying else you can thinkof

ive ported my vBXirc to vb3 but that had already been done, im currently working on making more options dynamic ^^

Not true and if someone dose charge it better be damn good because someone around here will do a free version.

I don't know where you get that from but mine will always be for free to download here on vb.

Back to the question, i port my store hack over once v3.0 of the store hack is released since the store hack has changed alot.

i thought you were allowed to release hacks for vb3 but not encouraged as things will change.

You're allowed to hack your own forums, of course, but you can't release those hacks here until RC1 is released.

filb which of yours wil work with gamma ? or is it untested ?

why though is it incase they have to change their whole thing and they wouldnt work?

The purpose of BETA and Gamma (and maybe some RC's) is to eliminate bugs, and by modifying the code, there is a harder chance of fixing bugs if any occur. That's why Kier asked for vB3 hacking to be allowed when RC1 is out (when there are little traces of bugs left)

Code from Beta to Gamma has changed slightly, esp. the functions, so I've had to modify some of my personal hacks anyway.

yeah, that's why i didn't make functions changes ;)

I've ported my second-to-last addition to the Gamma code. Works like cake.

I'll release it probably the day RC hacks are allowed on this forum.

I'll be releasing some of my forum hacks too... mostly admin ones... let's hope RC is not too different to Gamma - I had to spend some time porting stuff from Beta 7 to Gamma.
