Portal probs
 

I have just purchased a VB liscense and a skin from someone that I can't seem to find. I created a new skin, and attempted to install it on my forum.

It works with no problem on the main forum pages http://www.gamerforums.net/forums/

the problem comes with the portal

The table backgrounds should not be red or pink, and the page should only be 800 pixels wide.

Is there a specific place in the admin section that I should fix these ares? I thought that it may be having the images in a different folder, but that did not seem to work either for fixing tha background images. The header calls for two instances of top1.gif, and I need to find where to edit the code to only show one instance.

What portal did you install?

I didn't install the portal, I just uploaded the files to the server and configured it. The portal was already included on the old site.

hmm that's odd, www.gamerforums.net works fine for me.

Ok. Try searching in the TEMPLATES section and expand the current style you are using on the board. Look for any section there titled FRONT PAGE, or HOME PAGE or anything like that

Nopes thats for main page of your forums.Take a screenshot or two so we can see your entire list of templates, That way we might be able to see the ones you need.

Also, on another note. Where did you buy that skin from it looks great. Forum looks nice too ;)

I didn't buy the skin, i just made it (got a few ideas from vbskinz and vbskins, but I made all of the pics in paintshop and photoshop). Not completely finished, but I'll have it done in a day or two.

I think it looks gorgeous, nice one, I take it its not going to be released at all though

I dunno, I have never done a skin before, this is actually my first forum, but I have a lot of game related traffic and decided to give it a try. I may make a few more skins to see how it goes, and maybe release some, not sure about this one yet though, may wanna keep my forum looking unique for the attention :)

I believe the backgrounds are the wrong colour because if you are using a portal from here, the replacements havent been set properly for the homepage templates so that's why you're getting those strange colours.

I have fixed that problem with the backgrounds, all except one problem with the background in the actual threads, I will find it sooner or later. The other prob that I have now is that the three rows from the portal are too wide, they bleed over the background and need to be pushed in some, and I can't find where to edit the width.

I am using the newest version of VBPortal.
I think it is 2.8?
