filburt1 11-08-2003 10:49 PM

Read about it at https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=58346 .

Thanks now I understand! You could of given us all a heads up. So now it gives you a title based on the hacks you released? Or how do we get this ranking? I just noticed it has nothing to do with posts, and I only read the first bit of that thread.

Why did you put that all the way at the bottom of that long thread? I just read the title and quit, because I got alot of work! Hold on read my reply in the thread ;)

This was a longplanned thing on vb.org, and since a few days we have the system now (i wondered why it took so long until someone asked about ^^)

The old System wasn't good, as Posts don't say anything about if the User is a Hacker or not.
The new System does that (at least better than the old way)

It's a nice little hack, the idea came to me while i lay in bed ^^

Note that there are no longer 5 different Titles, but just 3, and all non-hackers are called Members now :)

Awe.... I guess I should write a hack sooner or later then... I don't like the "Member" Title

Xenon 11-09-2003 12:02 AM

that's the plan behind ^^

but don't forget, mass releasing hacks, won't help you either, as the system is a bit mor accurate than just counting if you've released a hack ^^

No... I don't mass release... I haven't even written one... thing is I don't know where to start learning :(

hmm, do it the old way: learning by doing.

most of us just learnt by trial and error method :)

My first coding experinece was with a little basic program years ago, where i just changed some values ^^

assassingod 11-09-2003 01:12 AM

Just a quick question, is it Advanced Coder -> Master Coder or the other-way round?

I like the new system:)

DrkFusion 11-09-2003 02:28 AM

total#ofinstalls/total#ofhacks = average install per hack

The lower the number, lower the status ;) Lol not sure how it would work.

Xenon 11-09-2003 12:38 PM

Master Coder is higher than Advanced Coder.

You can easy find out, as there are just 3 Master Coders on vb.org, but more Advanced Coders ;).

@Drk: well it's not exactly like that, we just won't provide detailed infos :)
But it has to do with Hacks and installs :)

Yeah I thought so hehe. Thanks Xenon

Xenon 11-09-2003 12:41 PM

You're welcome :)

The stats may change a bit if we think we have to optimize them, but so far it's looking ok to me :)

Oh pooh...I better start releasing some hacks if I wish to get a high status ;) But I doubt I will reach master coder anytime soon!

Chris M 11-09-2003 01:42 PM

Sucks;)

Everyone knows that NTLDR and myself should be the only Master Coders;)

Xenon 11-09-2003 01:43 PM

The number of users who installed your hacks say something different :p

Erm...I have more hacks than g-force, and like his, 2 of mine have over 100 installs:p

Satan

but the rest :p

assassingod 11-09-2003 02:33 PM

g-force2k2 hacks have more total number of installs than you, which is what the usertitle depends on.

Total tally of all my installs: 821
Total tally of all of g-force's installs: 1028

Whilst you are true, it is hardly by much;)

@Xenon - I have quite a few with 40 or more installs on as well, so :p

Anyway - I think that myself, NTLDR and Arunan should have the titles "Pwning Coder";)

Xenon 11-09-2003 02:55 PM

look at the original System:

499 Posts Master Coder
502 Post Ultimate Coder.

Noone cares if it's close or not, it's just how the system works :)

Velocd 11-09-2003 03:46 PM

Interesting stuff.

Maybe there is someway to implement your post count in giving you something also. Like, at X amount of posts your user title is bold, or italicized, or a certain color.

/me shrugs

no those things tell you if the person is a mod or admin or whatnot

No, moderators don't have different style user-titles, they just have the ability to change them

Good idea!
#ofinstalls/#ofhacks^posts :-p But then Xenon would be owning us all :-p

Xenon 11-09-2003 06:15 PM

as adding the postcount would make the system a bit more complex to code, we won't do so :)

the postcount is visible, so no need to base titles on it :)

I believe I know the name of the parent forum.

Kywahahaha..

;)

kennethj 11-10-2003 06:12 PM

why don't you tak this thread and move it to the forum where the

"Admins" "Mods" and "The chosen ones not on forum leaders list" can discuss it.

Leaving it here for me, not knowing the whole story is stupid, as it can't be dicsussed not knowing the facts.

the only thing it has let me know that there are groups of people here,

and I must be a Lower class of Member, as there are "Memberes" here who by there posts have READ it.
